We were extremely pleased with the quality & service from the staff in a beautiful building - we asked for a room with limited walking and were given room 212 which was perfect.
Staff were very pleasant when we arrived and wanted to wander through the hotel.

Room was lovely with good amenities, although there was a loud noise, possibly coming from the air con, but it's an old building so we expected it to be a bit querky.
Staff were friendly and helpful
The building itself has been restored tastefully with lots of original details.

The hotel building is fantastic. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely although I did have to request some extra lighting which was brought to us with half an hour. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. Excellent stay.

The room was really nice and big. Kind of modern Harry Potter with high cielings and nice bathroom. Quiet. Cool hotel inside. Dining room was great. Lovely wait staff! Excellent steak. Definitely would stay here again. Great location too. Easy walk to town but just outside so its quiet.

The building itself is beautiful. Comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom. Lovely relaxing bar and dining areas. Very pleasant staff throughout our stay with good customer service.
We would have rated excellent until I observed cobwebs on the light shade/wire just above a dining table. This was in easy reach and should have been dusted.

Hotel is very nice and in a very convenient location for Durham town centre. Room was adequate although we found a few problems with it. Bed was very high and hard, there a few lamps that did not work, one being the desk lamp and the another in the bathroom.
