"If you like to experience hospitality of the Lake District The Keswick Park Hotel and the town in general is for you! Clean rooms, great breakfast and restaurant for dinner, outdoor seating if weather is good, wonderful, friendly staff. Across the quiet street is beautiful Fitz Park with grass tennis courts, outdoor table tennis, colorful gardens and ice cream stand. Easy walking to several trail heads, center of town pubs, market, and lake. Bus accesses as well. A movie theater and playhouse are also there. View of the mountains from some of the rooms. We were there for 9 days and wanted to stay longer. Hope to return someday. We flew into Heathrow, next day took train from Euston Station to Carlyle and rented a car-but we didn’t really need to rent a car -if we got off at Penrith could have taken an uber or bus. Our only issue with the Hotel is that parking is a little tricky-there are only 5 spaces and we weren’t told of the nearby streets to park for free nearby -we looked at the towns website after paying for several days at a parking lot. So, if the staff could provide that info at check in it would be helpful. "

"Have stayed here many times and never fails to impress. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were amazing with a first class dinner menu with plenty of choice. The lounge bar was comfortable and well appointed. We had lunch and drinks in the beautiful gardens as the weather was exceptional. All members of staff are friendly and helpful a welcome change to the surly staff you get at most places these days. We will return again and again. For me personally as I have a dog phobia I like the fact that dogs are not allowed in the main building or in the bar. Highly recommended."

"A peaceful location, a welcoming and attentive host, beautiful surroundings, and great food. A nice escape from the noise of Keswick town centre. I had a very comfortable bedroom and the bathroom was everything I needed after a hard day running up the fells. It's nice to sit in the garden and watch the hens. "

"My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Castle Inn. Situated in Bassenthwaite, it's just a 15-minute drive into Keswick. There's also a bus that gets you there in 20 minutes - the bus stop is right outside the hotel. There is free on-site parking, and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. All the people we encountered were lovely, from the receptionist to the bar and restaurant staff. We had a family room, consisting of a king-size bed and two singles. There was a lounge area with TV, large wardrobes, a second TV facing the double bed, and a desk area with lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits, water, etc. The beds were really comfortable, and there was a fan in the room. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped. A bath, separate shower cubicle, and plenty of complimentary toiletries, even toothbrushes and toothpaste. The view from the room was lovely - it overlooked the gardens, tennis court, and putting green. The restaurant served a good selection of meals, with plenty of options for the kids and vegetarian options too. I had the Cumberland Curl (sausage), with mash and vegetables, which was very tasty! On-site facilities include a gym, heated pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. The kids loved the pool! Breakfast was excellent, with continental and cooked options available. Although the hotel is currently being renovated, this had no impact on our stay. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit the Lake District."

"Amazing stay at a beautiful property. Just off the Coast to Coast walk, this hotel was a perfect place to recover from a long walk. And the all-day tea/coffee and scones was a lifesaver. The rooms were nice and the food was delicious. Could not recommend more. They even had a place to fill up water bottles/bladders next to a gear drying room, which was a nice touch. "
