A Pearl In A Forgotten Fjord - Luxury Boathouse

A Pearl In A Forgotten Fjord - Luxury Boathouse

10/10 Excellent
"Loved my stay here! Although I traveled solo, there is sufficient room for a large family/group. The view of the fjord is extraordinary, and I found myself sitting and watching the beautiful wildlife for hours. The adjustable LED lighting in the kitchen/living room area is a very nice touch, and there are separate indirect heating thermostats to control different parts of the home. The houseboat is situated in a perfect location for driving out of Esturoy and visiting places like Gjógv, Slættaratindur, or many other places of interset for visitors. While nice and secluded, the nearest grocery or Rusan's is only ~16-20 minutes away."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Faroe Islands

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit the Faroe Islands is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the significant historical, cultural, and natural landmarks of the islands, a stay of at least 3 days is recommended. This allows ample time to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes and rich heritage that the Faroe Islands offer, making it a great value for money for budget-conscious travellers. With prices potentially dropping during these months, it's an excellent opportunity for a memorable getaway without breaking the bank.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals in the Faroe Islands, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions. The Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. With these resources, you'll be among the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop, making it easier to secure a spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in the Faroe Islands. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll recommend more economical dates to increase your chances of securing a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in the Faroe Islands undoubtedly offers the allure of convenience and easy access to local attractions; however, this prime location often comes at a premium. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are more likely to be affordable, providing an opportunity for budget-conscious travellers to stretch their funds further. For those seeking better rates, opting for accommodation outside the city centre is worth considering, albeit with the understanding that this may necessitate additional travel to reach key sights. Furthermore, exploring nearby cities can reveal a wealth of experiences while presenting more budget-friendly options for your stay.

Best time to go to Faroe Islands

Faroe Islands has a varied climate due to its size, so the best time to visit depends on the region and your preferences for weather and crowds. If you’re looking to soak up the lively atmosphere in Faroe Islands, June, August, and September are the peak months to visit, bustling with fellow travelers. During this peak period, the weather is mostly cloudy, with light rainfall. However, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, May, November, and December are perfect for a quieter getaway, marked by light rainfall and mostly cloudy conditions.
