Wonderful location, very friendly experience, very nice accommodation.

This is without doubt one of the most special places we have ever stayed. Service was special from owners and staff. Food was outstanding, Rooms large and beds very comfortable, and the views truly outstanding.

Firstly, it’s worth arriving on helicopter, worth every penny. The bures are really big and a blend of tradition and modern. Worth going for the deluxe or overwater bures. The staff are the best, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The beaches are a bit disappointing. Not very clean as the tide comes in quite high and leaves debris. I honestly cannot rate my stay at Papageno Resort in Kadavu highly enough. As a backpacker on a budget, staying here was a very special treat for me, and it exceeded every expectation. This resort is great for relaxation. Everything is done for you, the staff are thoughtful and the service was good. The spa was amazing. We spent 3 nights here and it was the perfect length stay. The accommodation was breathtaking. The only shame was you could only get cocktails during happy hour.

Spacious large hotel with excellent amenities

The island is very beautiful, the Fijian people who look after your every need are amazing , helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotless the food and service was excellent. Everything was perfect made special by the wonderful staff it was like being part of a large happy family.

Does what it says on the tin! The traditional bures are excellent to stay in. You get your own bure-front hammock (I've come to judge Fiji by its hammocks!) and there are plenty of activities (some inclusive of charge) for those who get bored easily. If you are looking for a barefoot romantic break look no further. A 30 minute seaplane ride from Nadi airport (Pacific International and Turtle Airways) gives you one or two extra nights at your resort and gives you a beautiful start and end to your trip. Beachfront Bures are large and comfortable with a huge bed, bathroom, seating area and minibar. Picture perfect Fiji. Great place to spend on an adventure or for relaxation. Resort was fantastic, facilities were great and the staff very friendly. Only thing that got me was the expensive 'mandatory food package' which is fine if you are going to serve free food all day. Our stay at the Maqai Eco Resort was by far the highlight of our wonderful holiday in Fiji. We were looking for a resort with 'bure' right on the beach and we got exactly that at Maqai. We slept soundly for the first time since arriving in Fiji, the sound of crashing waves working their magic.
