"We use the property almost every time that we fly into Des Moines. Nice-sized rooms are quiet despite proximity to the airport. Free airport shuttle makes access easy. Desk staff are pleasant and welcoming and efficient. Hy-Vee grocery store within easy walking makes self-catering easy. The complementary continental breakfast has adequate options. (They now use compostable plates instead of styrofoam. Cutlery is still plastic.) Rooms have adequate storage. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning unit was fairly quiet. There is a Perkins Restaurant next door, but not many other dining options in the immediate area. The motel area is not conveniently served by public transport, so you would need your own wheels to visit local tourist sites or shopping malls. But as a convenient place to sleep after a long international flight, it is great. "

"Close to Airport"

"Wish the parking was different so the front entrance to check in wasn’t around the side of the building, but other than that everything was great. Check in was easy and quick. I realized my room lights weren’t working and they had it fixed within less than 10 minutes! Super clean and cozy."

"Really nice historic hotel in downtown. Good value for the price. On a quiet street with not much to walk around and do. Carpet was dingy and stained. Housekeeping showed up once the 3 nights we were there to see if we needed anything. It wasn’t explained to us at check in that we wouldn’t get service unless asked for so wondered where they were all weekend. My daughter thought the front desk person was rude but I just thought he was ok and just disinterested. Overall, I would stay there again."

"Excellent customer service OMG the breakfast is phenomenal. The rooms were clean. Staff was excellent. Great customer service definitely recommend this hotel. I will be going back there every time. I am in Des Moines."

"I was quite impressed with everything from the quick check-in, to the comfortable bed, to the delicious smelling lotions and potions the hotel provided. Loved the bar at night and the complimentary breakfast was much better than expected. Zero complaints, the staff were friendly and everything was perfect. The hotel has a glamorous feel at a budget friendly price. "

"Front desk staff were very friendly. Room was clean and beds were very comfortable. We slept very well because the location of the hotel was very quiet. Hot breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choices for breakfast from cereals to pancakes. "

"Staff was super nice. Room was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. If I had to be picky I would say don't get the pizza from the attached restaurant, it's terrible."
