My family and I checked in through a hotels.com reservation. The parking lot was dark as was the lobby. The woman at the front desk was kind. Our first room had a dysfunctional smoke detector that forced us to switch rooms. The second room had the overpowering scent of Lysol upon entering the room. Then, my wife pointed out what appeared to be a streak of dried blood on the bathroom door. I grabbed a quick cloth to wipe it off so to not scare my kids. We then grabbed our stuff and left for another hotel in the area.
Hotels.com contacted the hotel. Apparently, a worker commented that “the hotel was offended” that we left.
The hotel refused a refund. Hotel.com should provide one based on this horrific experience.
