This hotel was nice. The history behind it was cool to read about. The thing I didn't like is that there was no air conditioning and we were fortunate to be in Ireland when it was 90 and sunny but sleeping was hard w/out fans.

An amazing location in a restored Georgian country manor. As you pull up to the main door, it may occur to you that the entire staff should be lined up to greet you in Downton Abbey style. That's how perfect it is! The staff is excellent. The only flaw was that our room's smoke detector had a hideous blue light that was way too bright at night. There was no way to get the room dark.

Beautiful grounds, strange experiences
The grounds are lovely, the beds are very comfortable, and the history is interesting. The experience, however, was difficult and comical. The room we paid extra for was not available (though the door to the room was wide open and empty the whole night). The breakfast took over an hour to be served, forcing a late check-out (despite being asked to arrive promptly for our reservation). There was no hand soap next to the sink, but two shower caps. The room was over-engineered, with extraordinarily thick doors, which made it quiet and… unbearably stale and hot. The newest technology in fire safety ment we were safe, but the light coming from the smoke detector was hilariously bright. We’re unsure if we were just unlikely, or if the place has a curse. It’s beautiful, awkwardly quiet, and the staff was very nice, but it was not our best night.

Gorgeous property with friendly staff. Beautiful room with comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay even though we were placed in the adjacent building without elevator (carrying our heavy luggage upstairs was a pain).
The restaurant is wonderful, but the spa was closed during our stay, bummer! Check the schedule if planning on using the spa

I wish I could give more stars. This was an absolute dream stay! We were celebrating our proposal/birthday and the staff were so kind and thoughtful when it came to our celebration. The included breakfast (pancakes/waffles) were AMAZING! The dinner was also so delicious. I wish we stayed here longer. Thank you again!

It was a luxurious country manor in a peaceful setting. The rooms were exquisite. The staff were fabulous and the food delicious. I felt like royalty. The grounds were so lovely and so nice to walk through. I would definitely come back for a longer stay next time.

GORGEOUS grounds, main house and our adjacent rooms in refurbished stables. Two luxurious king sized beds - the best on our trip! Rooms could use some hooks for towels and bathrobes, but otherwise clean, SO comfy and quiet and lovely. Breakfast one morning had the whole staff in a tizzy, but it was soon forgotten (new help). The whole atmosphere was well worth the stay in lovely Letterkenny.

We had such a fantastic experience visiting rock hill. From the gated entrance, to the beautiful building, the garden, lovely breakfast (with a tea stand with a selection of bread/metas/cheese etc for each table). We stayed at the newly build apartments that was absolutely fantastic. The bathrooms had both a big shower and a big bathtub (big enough for two). Beds were very big. Quite and tranquil. I wish we would have stayed an extra day.

Fabulous!!
We were treated like royalty at Rockhill House. The grounds of this former estate are lovely. Our room was sparkling clean and well appointed. Staff was particularly gracious and helpful with our requests. Breakfast included a three-tiered offering of pastries, fruits, local cheeses and meats - and then we custom-ordered our fully cooked breakfast. We enjoyed a night-cap at the on-premises cozy pub. We felt rested and rejuvenated after our relaxing stay at Rockhill House. We will most certainly return!

Male Receptionist on Duty at check in asked us to wait whilst he completed a job of writing. When he did give us his attention, had poor interpersonal communication skills and manner lacked care or warmth. No welcome. Didnt offer to book us a table in restaurant. However did arrange promptly to have cigarette butts removed from front after our reporting.
Bedroom superficially clean, but dust (thick) on all high surfaces ie. Tv, mirrors also skirting, also on towel radiator. No protectors on beds or pillows. Sheet too small for bed and wudnt stay tucked.
Black stain inner bathroom door and drip marks on outer. Hairs in bath.
Grounds beginning to look uncared for. Hedges need clipped. Weeds need pulled.
Breakfast buffet untidy and poor variety and quality.
Cooked breakfast presented very well but bacon and sausage could have been better quality.
Salt cellar on table was completely empty. No toast was offerred.
We stayed same time last year, and it seems quality and attention to detail have slipped.
For an expensive hotel stay, expect better.
Reception staff on departure much more capable although didnt ask if we enjoyed our stay.
Downstairs decor in the drawing rooms remains outstanding, however sad to see precious furniture being stained by alcohol gel drips.
Glass bauble light fitting on stairwell dirty and with broken bauble visible.
Disappointing. Wont be back.

Not worth the money.
This is a lovely hotel and property. I was drawn to it by the opulent photos. However, I didn’t realize that we were getting a room in an outbuilding with a view of a huge parking lot when I registered. My fault for not looking closely. It was a lovely new room but not worth the price. My rating is based on the fact that despite the room included 2 king size beds and was listed as a room for 4, they charged extra for our granddaughter. There were only 2 chairs in the room and we had to ask for enough towels for my granddaughter. There was a small kitchenette area in the unit but it was missing a waste basket and towels at the sink. Had to ask several times for a waste basket before one was delivered. My biggest turn of was that the cleaning staff had left someone’s electric toothbrush in the shower for us to deal with.

we checked in and was giving our room which was dirty i was able to write my name on the little table and where the kettle and cups were was so sticky you would have thought someone poured honey or syrup on it i told the reception and she upgraded us to another dirty room which was not checked she just handed us a key for it the hair was sticking out of the hair trap on the shower and a lot of hair over the bathroom floor we got it cleaned but i was not comfortable staying there we stayed the night and big cobweb just above the bed and spider on cealing on other side of bed we asked to speak to a manager reception told us she would be in later we went to church restaurant which is part of rockhill house but a sperate building the manager came down to the restaurant my husband could see her in the kitchen looking out at us and she was in the bar talking to the barman but never came to talk to us and when we went back up to the hotel she was gone she left word she would see us in the morning but again dident it was another manager so i asked for a compleat refund i paid with cash the evening before but she couldent refund me with cash she had to refund on to my card which took 4 days not counting the weekend would not want anyone going through what we went through we went to destress and ended up more stressed
