Self check in hotel, so not sure how to rate the staff, so this is based on the cleanliness. I had the very top room. The room conditions were a little lack luster. Dirty floors, as if they hadn't been swept in a few stays. Shower head was broken and would not stay at the top of the vertical slide adjustment, so the water just hit me in the same of my back. The hotel is however in a great location, and was relatively clean. Always felt safe, The rooms need just a little attention.

This is in a great location. The room is very sparse with no place to set luggage or items in bathroom. Some rooms have a courtyard view but ours looked at a building and someone’s balcony. Bed is very firm but not too bad. Elevator is 1 story up so you have to lug bags up a twisting flight to get to the weird little elevator.

Having tea and coffee available 24/7 was fantastic and the breakfast very good too!! Share bathroom facilities were also very good. Unfortunately the people in the room above us disturbed our sleep as we could hear them walking around on the wooden floors and banging about quite loudly.

The hotel is on a plaza on the back streets, but close to restaurants and shops. The room was small and the elevator did not work correctly. Great location, but an older hotel.

The room was nice and clean, up 47 stairs. The lift was working so need to be able to carry luggage up. The room was cute and clean overlooking a small square. None of the room amenities worked. The fridge, the safe and the coffee maker did not work and since there is no staff there was no one to ask for help.

The hotel is in a great location and the room was clean, except for the bathroom. The shower drain was partially clogged so we could barely shower for a minute until it flooded. The bathroom sink also has drainage issues.

This hotel was walkable from the train station, and was in a great location in the center of the old town. Newly remodeled and very clean. We had our elderly parents with us; our only concern was that we had to get them and all our luggage up a full flight of stairs in order to access the elevator. This was a little tricky. Good price, we really enjoyed our stay!

No reception or lobby. Nobody keeps your luggage in a safe room if you need to store it after check-out or before check-in.

My wife and I are pretty pragmatic travelers who typically only need a clean, comfortable place to stay with minimal frills but practical amenities. The Hotel Le Stelle is probably one of the worst hotels we've stayed at in all our years of traveling. First, the good: we did not have any issues with the electronic self check in (though there's no one to help if any issues arise). The location is superb, right off Hirschenplatz, a couple min walking from the Reuss River, and less than 10 min walking from Lucerne Central Station. The bad: our room was tiny, old, and unkempt. There was no AC, and the tiny table fan could hardly provide any ventilation. Opening the windows only helped at night after things had cooled down, but our room faced other buildings and had almost no natural circulation. The ceiling lights were dim and actually stopped working on our second night. There were hooks in the bedroom but no hooks in the bathroom for hanging things. There was a yellow sink stain in the bathroom, questioning how well they clean here. There were limited and poorly placed electrical outlets, no desk, no stand by the bed, and limited space for our belongings. We had limited options when booking for the price range we were looking for, but it's not like this hotel would be considered economical. Even if it was, it was a terrible stay other than the location. Also, the so-called offered luggage storage in the restaurant downstairs is in plain view, no secure room. Misleading!

The property was great. We had issues checking in and the staff was very helpful and polite. There isn’t AC so it was hot, but they did provide a fan! The only complaint is housekeeping would knock on your door starting at 8am.

Nice rooms but automated check-in failed
The rooms were quite nice, especially for the quite reasonable price. The rooms were very clean with a nice, modern bathroom. Centrally located in the old city was a big plus. Of course, like almost all hotel rooms in the old city, there is no air conditioning. Even so it wasn't uncomfortable to sleep on a hot July night The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the automated self check-in completely failed to work. The manager of the Japanese restaurant downstairs handled everything. She was very nice about it, but if we'd arrived when the restaurant was closed, i don't know what we'd have done.
