Hidden Gem in Steinbeck country

Very cozy and clean. You can tell that the staff takes pride in presentation. If I stay in the area again this will be one of the first places I look up. Only downside was the communal mini fridge and the parking lot was a bit cramped.

Chateau is such a charming place. We loved the ambience of the chateau. The rooms are all a good size and super clean with nice bathrooms. The easy check in is a plus for all travelers. The area is safe, parking was great, and we had a quiet stay. We are definitely returning to stay. Cheers.

I liked the appearance and well kept grounds. The room was clean and felt very relaxing. Although I did not “see” the staff, they were readily available to speak to and respond via text. Parking was excellent too. I will definitely keep this location in mind for future trips in this area.

Overall stay was wonderful! Only thing that I disliked was how difficult it was to wash my hair; it felt like I was rubbing it with sandpaper regardless of the amount of shampoo/conditioner I used. Other than that, staff was kind enough to find my missing necklace (thank you so much!!) and the area was beautiful. It was away from the busy city and it was very peaceful. I definitely would come back to stay again in the future and highly recommend staying here as a getaway. Close to the aquarium as well!

The property is a gorgeous Victorian. Our suite had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, each very beautifully appointed, and a sitting room with a fireplace, comfy couch and large screen TV. check-in was very simple, the property sent a text with the entry code for the electronic door lock, and instructions to get to the suite, it was completely contactless. I highly recommend the Chateau Coralina, and will return the next time I stay in Salinas.

The Chateau is in process of renovation for a new owner. The elevator is not yet in use. There are some 22 steps to the second floor and 15 to the wine cellar area. They are waiting for the county to inspect the repairs but have to wait SIX months for the inspection. A sad reflection on the county, not the owner or facility.

Absolutely loved the room and property and would have given it a five star if the check in process was easier. After a long day of travel the last thing I wanted was to give credit card information to a person I could barely understand over the phone. Had to ask to repeat questions and had to repeat my answers multiple times. Very irritated by the time I got to my room. Again, the room and the entire home was perfect, just the check in process was annoying, very. I will return and hope this is cleaned up by then.
