    Kansas City has an incredible history of jazz music, with much of it created within the district of 18th and Vine. Renowned for its popular marketplace known as City Market, the area dates back to 1857 and has featured everything from travelling circuses to horse-trading events.     West Bottoms might be traditionally known as Kansas City’s industrial zone, but in the last couple of decades, it’s grown into something much more interesting.     The Ship is certainly one of the hottest venues in town, featuring live jazz and soul performances, alongside late-night dance parties. Make your way to Stockyards Brewing Co. and sample a variety of craft beers from the region, while the Lucky Boys dive bar offers burgers and pool tables for when you just want somewhere laid-back.

    Make some new friends at Waldo’s warm pubs

    Situated south of Downtown, Waldo’s chilled-out neighbourhood vibes make it a great destination to enjoy a night out away from the city lights. With almost every hotspot in Waldo within walking distance of each other, soaking up Kansas City’s relaxed atmosphere is made easy.

    One of the local’s favourite hangouts is the Kansas City Bier Company. Featuring a German-style Biergarten with a comfortable outdoor patio and taps, if the sun is shining, you’ll find this place brimming with people. Other popular Waldo-based bars include The Well, which features a rooftop terrace and fire pits, while Bier Station has regular live music and trivia nights.

    Spend a night in Kansas City’s next big district
