The hotel canceled my reservation, by email, sent less than 24 hours before my arrival. Being on a bus I wasn’t even able to find it and react. No personal on the spot, the check-in automated, my reservation no longer exists - nobody to explain why. Had to reach to Expedia who said “probably they’re out of vacancies “. The reason, I later found, was that the credit card on file has expired. I made the reservation 4 months in advance, and the only available option was “you pay at the location”. Why did they decide to try to charge me one day before the arrival then? Terrible experience trying to find a stay 2 hours before the show ($200 ticket), ruined night, and Expedia was not able to help.
