We were very disappointed with the InterContinental Lisbon hotel. We booked two double rooms, one for me and my husband and another for a couple of friends. Each room was booked with a Queen-size bed.
When we arrived, we were surprised to see that the rooms on separate floors, and in our room, there were two twin beds with a nightstand in between.
When we went down to the reception and asked to change to a room with the bed we asked for, they claimed there were no available rooms and that our booking did not guarantee a queen as requested by us, and its only a request and they cant garenty the bed we booked for. Instead of trying to help or upgrade us to another room with a Queen bed as appear in our reservation, they insisted we wait until the evening, hoping that if someone who had booked did not show up, we might be able to get their room.
When we insisted on getting another room, they called and said there was another room available, but when we arrived, we found they had simply joined two single beds, which turned out to be very uncomfortable due to the gap in the middle. This is not the level of service I would expect from a five-star hotel
