We stayed here for my husband's birthday celebration and were really disappointed. The room was in poor condition, cracked and stained sink, broken ice bucket, poor quality bedding, dated decor, really loud and dated extractor fan, no complimentary water etc. when we complained, we were advised to contact customer services. We did this in march and still await a response over a month later. We would never stay here again.

    Good hotel
Nice hotel but no free WiFi in rooms which is very strange these days, you can even get free WiFi on the bus! Hotel very nice and staff lovely. Nice big rooms but bathroom could do with an update as sink and bath very strained. Noisy at night but as it’s a city centre hotel that’s to be expected. Overall would stay again if they offered free WiFi

50/50 Great location, but check in needs sorting..
Stayed here last Saturday on a busy day for the hotel. The Concierge valet parking is worth spending a few more pounds and second to none; shame the same cannot be said about the rest of the hotel. Check-in was after 3pm, and although we tried checking in at 3.15pm, like most of the guests in the now full que in reception, we were told the room was not ready; I think only because I expressed my displeasure, so to speak, that a room was eventually found. The standard double room we had was spacious, but the bathroom was a bit dated. Our main problem was returning to the room in the early hours and realising the duvet was more like a couple of sheets, and the Air-Con heater fan was too loud to have on to warm up the room, and still get a good nights sleep. That said, check out Sunday morning was not until 12am, and breakfast was also served until this time; and although this was the usually help yourself buffet style, there were a few little extra's to be had, and the staff were good. The best thing about the hotel is the dead centre location.

Having stayed here a good number of times in the last 3 years and booked meetings and rooms for numerous guests I have always been rather pleased. This time I was let down. The check in was poor and I was made to feel not quite good enough for Marriott hotels despite staying in them around 30- 35 nights a year. I paid for Valet Parking and as a returning guest I asked could I used the business lounge That will be a further £40 for the lounge sir. I said seems a little steep for one day access baring in mind I was there for two nights. I said I do stay a lot is that the best you can do. She said Sir guests who stay 100 nights a year get free access. I just felt a little put back that she brazenly advised me I wasn't recognised as a loyal customer. I paid the fee and was told I would get an exec room upgrade as well. This was a lie. again I have stayed there loads and instead I was put on a low floor just above all the bus stops on the main road with traffic all day and night along with people shouting and screaming. Great. On top of that the lounge was not what it was meant to be with the servings of food and drinks they claim to offer. in fact the fridges were locked and there was peanuts and a coffee machine so for my money I was actually in receipt of something I could have bought from the bar for £5 The night porter and general day porters were exceptional though. Feedback was given on check out.
