30 Oct 2026The hotel is feeling its age and desperatly needs an upgrade. Our window was leaking, woke up with a big pool of water the day it rained. Hair dryer did not work, and a lamp did not work. The drains are clogged, when showering there is a pool of water building up same while brushing teeth. Also the AC is borderline not working. Took 4 days on the lowest settings of 14 degree to reach our desired temperature of 21 degrees. First few night was unbearable to sleep at night as the room was too hot. From our 67 floor room can hear loud bass/music untill late night every night from their bar/club. Theese things would be completly unacceptable for a 3/4 star hotel and this is supposedly a 5 star one.
The facilities, horrible. Gym is decent, with good view. No pool no spa no nothing. They have a scammy roof top bar that the employees keep advertising. First of all the roof top bar has views from the worst side of the building and the prices are extortionate. 20 dollar cocktails in Chongqing. Ridiculous.
Hotel location good. Close to attractions. View is decent, only if you get upgrade of 550+ yuan a night. The standard river view is bad. Only the two river view is good. Overall staff are super bad trained for a "5 star hotel." Even for Chinese hospitality standards. The cleaning ladies are friendly and super nice other than that staff has huge variety in service quality and not even close to 5 star standards. Would not reccomend this place.
