Room 135 is the last room on the floor. It has a sanitary clean out access in the bathroom - covered by an 8", dented metal plate, hanging on a large nail, center wall between the bathtub and toilet. The window hangings were odd sized, with the dark shades 6" taller than the interior shades, exposed by not coming together at the top by a full 12". And again, large nails along the wall. A strong, lingering smell - part cigarette, part room freshener - was apparent to management as the room's fan was running in the room. Loudly running. As was the clock radio, which would not turn off. Crickets on the carpet.
We had reserved a king. When we opened the door, 2 queens. The desk clerk failed to tell me that my reservation was not available and to explain the substitution. When I went back to the clerk, she suggested that I could cancel the reservation and go on my way, (no refund) as she did not have any other rooms available.
The following morning, the check out clerk explained that the property has been undergoing remodeling and that the room had previously been a king but recently changed to 2 queens. Sorry.
On the brighter side, the breakfast was nice. Morning staff pleasant, food well presented, and the area kept clean as guests finished meals.
