Estoril's glamorous coastal strip delivers a perfect mix of golden beaches, sophisticated nightlife, and old-world charm. The iconic Casino Estoril stands proudly along the waterfront, while Tamariz Beach offers pristine sands perfect for sunbathing or swimming. Palm-fringed avenues lead past Belle Époque villas to championship golf courses and tennis clubs where international tournaments unfold. Upscale seafood restaurants and beachfront cafés serve fresh Atlantic catches paired with local wines. Convenient train connections whisk you to Lisbon in just 40 minutes, while the scenic coastal promenade invites leisurely exploration on foot. Europe's westernmost point at Cabo da Roca lighthouse is just a short drive away. The beach offers world-class surfing conditions year-round. Beachfront restaurants dish out fresh seafood with ocean views, though most close early outside summer months. The limited public bus service connects to Cascais centre where you'll find more dining and shopping options.
Golden sands and crashing waves invite surfers and sun-seekers to Carcavelos Beach, the crown jewel of this coastal area. The historic fortress of São Julião da Barra stands guard while beachgoers spread their towels along the expansive shoreline. Grab a board from one of the local surf schools or simply stroll the bustling promenade lined with cafés. Beachfront restaurants serve fresh grilled sardines with ocean views, while small local markets provide essentials. Trains run every 20 minutes from Carcavelos station, connecting to Lisbon in 30 minutes and Cascais in just 10. Holiday rentals and guesthouses offer accommodation ranging from budget apartments to luxury villas with sea views.

Local life centers around morning beach walks and evening promenades, where the sounds of ocean waves create a peaceful soundtrack. Traditional tavernas and family-run seafood spots serve fresh catch at reasonable prices—try the grilled sardines or caldeirada stew. Excellent train connections put Lisbon just 30 minutes away and Cascais only 10 minutes down the track. Most visitors stay in holiday rentals with ocean views rather than hotels.
Cascais e Estoril's Quinta da Marinha neighbourhood is known for its spas and restaurants, and entices visitors with attractions, including Oitavos Dunes Golf Course and Quinta Da Marinha Golf Course.

absolutely lovely family run hotel - beautiful terrace and pool area over looking a small cove / beach. The food was delightful and the rooms were perfect. The walls can be a bit thin at times, but the bed is so comfortable you will drift to sleep quickly. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Hotel was wonderful, could not fault the staff or the service. Excellent location, opposite beach, walking distance of the many bars and restaurants, whilst still located in a quieter position. While I cannot fault the hotel, I will never book through Expedia again, the hotel is advertised on Expedia as having a free children's club, this was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, as we have a 5 year old who would've really enjoyed the...

Very relaxing stay, bedroom was delightful & the lounge area was a great space. The garden / pool area was beautiful to just chill out in the sun. Set in a quiet residential area, but only a 15 minute stroll into Cascais town centre. If you want an alternative to a big hotel, but still want a quality break, this is the place for you in Cascais.

My favourite place I stayed in during my 2-week trip to Portugal. Felt like a true home-from-home with a fabulous house, lovely warm and welcoming staff, within walking distance from the train station and walking distance to 3 beautiful beaches (and more if you have some transport). I was in the smallest room in the back but it was lovely, with a large bathroom. No view, but I didn't expect or mind that. I just got out into the sun and explored Cascais through the day! We liked this hotel very much the only downside is parking the car but this is to be expected when you’re in the centre of a town like Cascais. We were in Cascais to see a concert and this hotel was perfectly placed for our needs.
Our room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated; totally in-keeping with the style of the hotel.
Breakfast was very pleasant and enjoyable - I don’t believe evening meals are available but there’s a great chicken restaurant just down the road.

Lovely hotel with great little touches like a personal letter to welcome us, daily cookies and kombucha and super friendly and helpful staff.
In particular Reuben, Eric, Barbara, Apu and Francisco were really helpful and lovely, especially when my husband was ill. We’ll definitely be back.
The pool is much bigger than the photos suggest and uses the modern salt rather than chlorine so doesn’t leave you stinking of chlorine. The food is excellent too.
