Hotel EXE Laietana Palace

We chose this hotel due to its location. It’s in the gothic quarter and within walking distance to lots of main sights. There’s plenty of choice of bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. Barcelona North Bus Station (Barcelona Nord Estació d’autobusos) is just under 20min walk. Jaume I underground station is a few minutes walk. It’s also very close to the port. We were very lucky as we were given an amazing room at the back of the hotel overlooking the old walls. We even had a large completely private terrace overlooking the city. We did not experience any road noise or noise from any neighbours so having read some of the reviews regarding road noise we felt very lucky. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly.

Great situation near Gothic quarter with plenty of restaurants nearby. Luggage store excellent. Buffet breakfast excellent. Room 103 is very small and facing the busy main road. The noise was terrible as the windows were not sound proofed

Brillant value for money, clean and very central would definitely recommend.

Would recommend hotel but just a couple of things, the bed mattress and pillows were very hard. The room was s little small and cramped. We were on top floor so no real window to open and not keen on having the air con on permanently.

Excellent location right near the metro and in the Gothic area which was amazing. Very clean rooms... But very compact but didn't matter too much as only 2 of us and we were out all day. No in Room facilities for coffee/tea making. If you just want a clean base to stay in a perfect area of Barcelona then this is great but not the most luxurious. Shops just round the corner and patisseries and cafes within 100 yards which was good.
