We went to stay, not knowing the set up was more like a hostel than hotel. Once we finally registered and paid, we went up to our room in a rickety elevator that had graffiti on the outside near the up/down buttons. The hallway was littered with garbage. We arrived at our room and discovered scuffs on the wall, a window so drafty the curtains were moving while the window was shut, and our TV screen was broken. Also, the restroom was outside our room (we assumed was a shared restroom with the room next to us, but it’s just not INSIDE the room). Complained to the staff that we weren’t going to stay on the property due to the conditions. They offered us a different room, but we declined. We did not stay more than 10 minutes, provided name and email address. Ended up staying elsewhere. Called Expedia and the original hotel/hostel refused to reimburse us due to their offering us a different room. Worst hotel experience. Thankfully we have travel insurance so we may have to file a claim to get our $400 back.
