Valet/Front Desk
We walked into the hotel, with multiple bags to each person and the front desk staff looked at us as if he was a bystander. The front desk is combined with a coffee bar which we did not know, got onto the elevator and rode it to multiple floors until we came back to the original floor where the man finally welcomed us to the hotel. Once we were checked in, the man at check out told us to walk around to valet and give our room number to valet, which from a customer service stand point was befuddling. The room was fine, outlets did not work in the room, but otherwise clean and comfortable. When we originally parked we were told that we could not self park, and valeted our car, the following morning we were handed our keys and told to go find our car in the garage. On the way down the ramp to the garage, my sister and I were told to “Watch your step” as they wheeled heavy luggage down the sloped ramp into the garage to find out car. We were forced to pay valet prices to go on a scavenger hunt for our car the following morning. Overall, the hotel was fine, I would be lying if I said it was not a comfortable stay, but from a customer service stand point, the hotel left a lot to be desired, will not be returning.

What's that in your window?
I recently stayed at your Hotel RL in Washington D.C. Check In was smooth and the room was fairly nice. The problem didn't start till we returned from the Nationals game and we were standing outside the coffee shop window and noticed a giant rat crawling across the coffee shop counter in the lobby. He eventually climbed into the light fixture and used it like a hamster wheel. We notified the person working and he and a few others grabbed brooms to attempt to chase the rat. Although he didn't seem surprised and tried to tell us the rat must have ran in when the door was open... Sure. Shockingly I was willing to let the rat thing go. As someone who grew up going to D.C. several times a year and I understand there are rats in the city. We just weren't going to get coffee obviously. The next morning though when we went to leave I told the woman working I needed the keys to my car and to get out of the garage. She went in the back to get them and was back there several minutes. She then came out to me and said "Are you sure you don't have your keys?". I responded yes, I was made to give them to you all when I checked in yesterday. She then went in the back again and came out and said "Oh are these your keys?" luckily they were. She said they must have fell out of the envelope over night. I would think maybe, if you're going to keep peoples keys over night you would have a better system than putting them in a white letter envelope with the room number written on it.

Very good 8.0
Our room is spacious which I didn’t expect when you enter the lobby. It has microwave and ref which would be better if cleaner will also check the freezer cause I think they forgot to clean the ice maker container. The pillow and bed are ok, room they gave us were near emergency exit which is I prefer and we had a good rest before driving back because we didn’t hear noise from other guest’s room and surprisingly even it is a pet friendly hotel I didn’t hear any bark or sort of noise from pets. Thanks Rene, Tony and Marco for your help and kindness to us.

My first impression of the hotel wasn't positive given the unusual lobby and greeting. There is no desk and the lobby looks like a small coffee shop. As I walked in, I was greeted by a young lady with no identifiable hotel insignia or regalia visible. The only thing she had was a name tag with only her name and the Ipad she was carrying. She asked me for my identification and a credit card and I asked her who she was. On the positive side the room was spacious but I found the beds to be too soft. Having a sofa in the room was helpful and the little kitchen was great. Surprisingly, the TV was great - big and high def. The bathroom was very small with the sink 6 inches from the tub and the toilet waaaay too close to the sink. The hotel staff were helpful with most things but some seemed curt when asked for help with directions or the complimentary coffee. Parking was incredibly expensive at $40/night but right next to the hotel. Right around the corner, parking was $24/night. The parking below ground had no elevator and no access to the hotel. All-in-all, I would stay there again because I have kids and need the space. The cleaning staff were great and always kept us stocked with towels and soap. The greatest find close to the hotel was the Wawa store around the corner. Breakfast was good and the chicken corn chowder was excellent.

Exceptional 10.0
Week long stay
After 10 hours at airports /flying- I finally arrived at RL Hotel. Patrick was amazing. He got me checked in quickly, explained all the amenities (what time coffee was served was all I cared about-but I listened to the others which were nice, but not my cup of coffee). The room was perfect- no tacky decorations, just the right amount of furniture to feel at home. Located in the DC Downtown strip with RL Hotel bicycles readily available for shopping trips, made this the perfect hotel for anyone visiting the DC area for shopping/sight seeing. Why RL?: I was there for a training seminar, google maps told me that RL Hotel was under a quarter mile from my training (walking distance!). The price of the rooms were comparable to the other hotels in DC, so I chose RL Hotel for its closeness to where I needed to be every day, cost, and high reviews from previous customers. Staff: Almost all of the staff was pleasant to speak with. I spoke with maintenance, housekeeping, front desk staff regularly. If they worked there and got on an elevator with me, they spoke to me. I was 1600 miles from home, without my family, and the staff at RL Hotel were really great about making my stay less stressful.
