Upon arrival, our room would not open due to another family staying in our room dead bolting the door. Had to drive to the main desk to get the hotel to fix the issue as number we called did not work. Told maintainance was on their way up now. In total it took an hour. The maintainance team were really friendly and helpful but waiting for an hour in Florida humidity isn't fun. The hotel didn't even think to offer a room change or any complimentary items. Had to write a review to hear an apology. If you want to stay here, the rooms are nice when you eventually get in but bear in mind the hotel overall has left a poor taste. Would only consider returning for the room but even that isn't enough to warrant an expensive stay. 4 star room, 3 star hotel.
Got to the hotel, super confusing for parking.. once they see a car they like, they are DETERMINED to valet park after saying numerous times no thank you.. The check in, no word of a lie had 10 people in line and took 3 HOURS! The staff are rude and can clearly see they do not like working there.. After checking in at registration desk, they send you to another desk which is supposed to show you your room.. the questions we were asked: how old are you? If you are younger than 25 they cannot sell you a timeshare so they will persist on selling you something else.. you like sea food? Steak? My girlfriend doesn’t like either.. “What are you vegetarian?” That made me chuckle a little but was said in a rude way.. anyways found the room ourself which is extremely hard because it is chaos there with so many people and running kids and not knowing what staff to speak to as they refuse to speak to you.. got to the room and the pictures are nothing like reality.. it was like we was in a hell hole and didn’t make sense how this place was a 4* Hotel.. Resort fees are different to ones displayed on Expedia.. Anyways paid extra to stay somewhere else the same night I checked in, did not get refund but was seriously uncomfortable in the hotel..
Great activities Room service could be a bit more daily as they only came on 2nd day but were fine after
Really enjoyed the stay staff really helpful and location excellent
Good - Room impressive with view over lake and nice bath/bed. Lots of facilities (add on charge) with pool and crazy golf etc. Parking no problem. Disappointing - In the evenings, the restaurant is unpleasantly noisy with its sports events on large TV screens being very actively cheered and applauded. Breakfast in there was okay. Room a little tired looking with chips out of bath surface. Underside of bed had rubbish from previous guests (drink cans and vaseline jar - I try not to think about it).
I have stayed here before as an Expedia VIP member and the experience was superb, so much that I booked to stay here again with two friends. Little did I know that the second stay would be such a disappointment Check in took 35 minutes after an 8 hour flight which wasn’t ideal but you accept because it’s a busy time of the year. When we did get to the front of the queue, I was then informed as an Expedia VIP member I wouldn’t be receiving any VIP upgrades (last time the room was upgraded to a larger one.) This was then challenged after a discussion with Expedia online staff and the hotel manager who said to speak to the staff again. Again, after consulting the staff, they said there would be no upgrade and I gave up. We upgraded our apartment to a larger one at $40 per night. As there were three males requiring separate beds and the hotel doesn’t do triple beds so we had no option but to do so really, despite requesting three separate beds on the booking. The room itself was lovely, with a nice balcony view of the lake along with all of the other facilities provided, it’s just in need of a little maintenance from what was experienced next. Unfortunately we had nothing but issues on the second day, staff were friendly enough but it was as if staff weren’t bothered about us. First off the safe broke on two separate occasions locking our money inside. Staff came out both times to rectify this but we were an hour later to the Universal theme park on both occasions. I
Service was incredible, staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of things to do on site
On check in you are immediately bombarded with info and they sweet talk you into a no refundable deposit of $ 20 for a free breakfast and tour which turns out to be a hard sell time share presentation. Not a great way to start youtr stay.
Not disable friendly in any way. Can't even get on the bed as it's too high....shower over bath has no rails for safety...i only have mobility problems what a wheelchair bound person would do i don't know! The first room we were given we couldn't even access as one elevator was not working and the other one didn’t stop at our floor No 3....even the housekeeping person said she had to go to floor 4 and walk down!!....and this was an accessible room! The accommodation is being renovated and only some blocks have been done it is a lottery which block you get. Good to have restaurant on site but i do not recommend this resort. The check in procedures are nearly 15/20 mins and then you're taken to another desk so they can try and sell you something. ......after travelling for 10+hours i just want a drink and a shower!
We had a good 3 week stay. Only negatives were the money we had to pay for the vip experience. $300+ dollars for being allowed to use equipment, basketballs, tennis rackets, boats etc. Paid the money & then we had to ask for the pass to receive the equipment hire. Also was given an email from Expedia saying because we were vip guests we should have received $10 vouchers for our drinks. Never received this either. Our room wasn’t cleaned for two days either. On the second day ended up phoning 3 times to ask why it hadn’t been done & each time I was told something different. Eventually had to phone for toilet paper to be delivered to the room as our room still hadn’t been done. Apart from these things we had a good stay. The people I’d like to mention would be Gabby from the Sports Bar. She gave us exceptional service. Also the security guards were lovely. They made us feel so welcome, each & every time we left or arrived at the property.
