The resort is beautiful and expansive, with enough activities for a week stay. The drive from the airport is through an alien landscape of volcanic rock - a very unique experience. Since there is nothing else around, the dining options are all very expensive and there are fees and charges for almost everything, so a stay can be expensive.

Great time at Waikoloa Village.

Their lagoon is the best. Worth every penny. Some other charges caught us by surprise, but I guess they are expected these days. Food at Island Gourmet (at Queens Market ~1mile from resort) is good quality and reasonably priced. Very close to Lava club - excellent for dinner with sunset.

Beautiful property with great pool and sheltered lagoon (with beach area) providing calm water for snorkeling (turtles are sometimes there) and paddle sports etc. No real sandy beach here but so much to indulge in that it wasn't missed. Dolphins and Luau onsite too.
