Cleanliness & Comfort: Nice and clean rooms. Service: Excellent and accommodating staff who quickly switched your room when requested. Location: Conveniently close to restaurants and stores. Drawback: Rooms facing the 405 freeway side are very loud and disruptive for sleeping, but rooms on the opposite side are quiet and peaceful.

The hotel was beautiful in both the public areas and room. The staff was friendly. While it was visibly clean, the cleaning products were extremely strong and caused myself to have a headache and my dog was shaking and coughing whenever we entered the lobby. We also did ask 3 times for help finding the pet relief area and never were able to locate it, the area we were pointed to did have a locked fenced vacant lot but but no pet grass, bags or signage.

I called a couple of days ahead to request early check-in. When we arrived, staff were friendly and welcomed us with our room ready ahead of check-in time. The property had an old-world charm with beautiful unique decor. The property and room were clean and comfortable. I loved the extra space and big bathtub. The courtyard view was beautiful. Good strong coffee was available in the room as well as a microwave. Just wish we had more time here to take full advantage of all the great amenities. We enjoyed the many choices in the vending room full of drinks, snacks, and food. The restaurant looked nice & opened early 6am for breakfast with a nice variety of choices. Parking was ample on a Sunday. This was a perfect place to stay for a nice quiet getaway after our fun show in the city.

Despite being in a very busy area, Ayer Hotel in Hawthorn, California was very quiet and serene. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is excellent and the amenities functional, convenient and clean. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

Had to pay to park at the hotel, which may be a standard thing for California. Also, were given an accessible room, which we didn’t want or need. It was, strangely, a long way from the lobby, and had a cheap, poorly working shower head. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good.
