Victorian v modern
We stayed at Castle in the Country two years ago in order to celebrate our anniversary. Our experience was so memorable, we came back to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. The first year we stayed in the top floor of the old and beautiful Victorian home. The owners are fantastic and have put a lot of time, energy, and work into restoring the Victorian and making each room unique. They have also created more modern rooms in a place called Castle Keep. This is the building where a delicious and unique breakfast is held and it has an area for snack, coffee, etc. Unfortunately, for us, we did not know we would be staying in the more modern building. Nothing is wrong with it but it does not have the charm and amazing woodwork the Victorian building has so we were disappointed with our room. The team managing the property are friendly and enthusiastic. I believe a lot of places might have been in the same position with it being winter and yet being in the 50's. Our room was so very warm/hot. We couldn't open the windows as the storm windows were still on which makes sense. We weren't able to enjoy the fireplace as it just made it hotter in the room. We were not able to cool off the room with a ceiling fan so that was a bit frustrating. The Castle in the Country really is in the middle of nowhere. They have added many more activities and packages since we have been there (check the website). It is definitely worth stopping by for a visit and possibly staying.

Great little getaway!
Castle in the Country was an excellent bed and breakfast. Our room was perfect (so was the jacuzzi tub) and the grounds are beautiful, even in the late winter/early spring. Breakfast was so good I wished I could've eaten it twice.

Couple escapes retail stress
This is an amazing establishment. Warm and inviting with the first step through the door. Whether you are feeling romantic, stressed, in need of outdoors, or just a wood burning fireplace... this is the spot. Spa service excellent. Food excellent. Five star review

The very best !
We have stayed at many B&Bs, but this has to be the nicest. The house is stunning and maintained so well. The beds are comfy; the bedding is top of the line. Breakfast is wonderful and served in a beautiful room with a gorgeous view while soft music plays. Professional staff. Such a relaxed and well cared for place.

Beautiful, restful, romantic location
We went to Allegan for our Granddaughter's wedding, but as it was our wedding anniversary week as well, we stayed at Castle in the Country for a romantic getaway. The Castle was beautiful and immaculately maintained, and the owners and staff made sure we didn't want for anything. Breakfast was an experience -- wonderful gourmet dishes, great cinnamon rolls, and fresh fruit. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

Nice B&B for a weekend exploring SW Michigan
Lovely B&B - our room was really nice with the added bonus of a tub big enough for 2. The only downside was that the bed was a little too firm. Breakfast was great. The only evening option for food onsite was a hamper - this was nice (and very convenient) but a little expensive for what we got. Nice grounds with space for short walks and the chance to sit by the lake.

The 2 Millers
This hotel was recommended by a relative who lives in the area. We were a little concerned about the price, but the stay was well worth it. Food was outstanding in quality and variety. Advice from owner (Ruth) was spot on as far as local restaurants and other attractions. Great stay. J/L
