The rooms were clean. Updated. Decor of rooms and office were welcoming and stylish. Rate was great. Oceanfront view was the best. Only negative was no microwave in rooms. And had to go to building/office next door for microwave and ice.

The staff welcomed us with lots of love and respect. We love that they are pet-friendly, and everywhere you go, you can take your dogs with you. There is a beautiful view of the beach, and the vibe was just amazing!

Great ocean front location. Convenient to a variety of shopping and restaurants. Our room was perfect for a short weekend getaway. It was very clean and they accommodated our request. Check in was quick and the staff were friendly. Will definitely stay with them again when in the area.

Housekeeping was good. View we were promised online was not what we received. We were told we would receive a full night credit which so far we have not. It has now been seven days since we checked in. Seven days since they promised to reverse the charges of one night. Seven business days. We should have seen a credit to our account by now. We also were charged $75 for incidentals. We were told those would be refunded to us as well. They were not. When can we expect to see proper credit?

A beautiful, elegant hotel with 10 star service.
The hotel was spotless. My room was outstanding. The view from my balcony was breathtaking.. There was always somebody in the hallway cleaning the floors. The elevator was spotless. Never have I seen a Beach hotel with five star service like The Shelby. Every staff member would greet me and say good morning or good afternoon. I hope you’re having a pleasant day. The pool, beach and parking are footsteps away from your room.
My dog felt like a star in this hotel because everybody loved her.

The stay was great. The hotel had just opened so some services were limited. The staff was friendly; however, there was a barking dog in the adjacent room most of the morning. But this was not addressed quickly since the front desk didn’t answer the phone deposited many calls.

The hotel was in great shape, very clean and new. The food and drink options were a disappointment. Our breakfast order was totally wrong and then once re-made was partial cold and partial burned. Then at the pool the outdoor bar was not open and pool service was very spotty and slow, so we had to walk to the restaurant to get drinks everytime. Lastly there was no iron in the room, we asked at the front desk and was told one would be sent. After 3 hours we called to check and were told it would be right up. It never showed. Repeated the next day and finally complained at the front desk and the staff member (showing frustration) finally just handed us one.
The hotel has the potential to be very good but the service side and food/beverage left a unfortunately bad impression.
