Enjoyable stay. Shame there are a few reasons I wouldn’t return. On the good side. 1. Staff, all excellent and very friendly. They need to work on the young lady that runs the health centre though. 2. Drink prices are fair and again the Hotel staff are excellent. 3. House keeping also do a great job and are really pleasant while working. On the bad side. 1. I went through a pre-check online process to make it easier. Despite doing a pre-auth on my card I have to do the whole thing again once I arrived. What a waste of everyone’s time. 2. I had a 5 year old with me. I booked this particular Hotel as it has a pool. You get 2 times to take in kids a) breakfast time (8-10am) and dinner/bedtime (6-8pm). Neither are ideal to take youngsters swimming. 3. I don’t recall seeing the car park was £5 a night to park. I don’t know why senior management wouldn’t just charge £5 more and ditch parking fees. So whist the staff are great, their Senior management are letting the place down.

Receptionist didn’t smile once on check in and wasn’t very friendly. I spoke to a different receptionist in the morning and was extremely helpful and friendly. The spa is lovely just needs more availability for treatments. It was very limited. Hotel was lovely room was lovely.

The rooms were expensive for what they are. They were clean and well maintained. There was no hairdryer in the room although there was a trouser press and iron and ironing board. I asked at reception about a hairdryer and was told some rooms have them some not. But she would have got one for me but alas it was too late as I was already on my way out. For the cost of the room I would have expected a room safe and maybe a little refrigerator. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room which were replenished daily.

Perfect Stop-over

The perfect place to use as a stop-over on the way from Dover back to Scotland. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was large, well-appointed and super-clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay there again on my next trip.
