The best thing about this property is the people. Everyone I met was helpful, and the proprietor went out of her way to meet my needs. The property is undergoing some renovation following floods, but was able to provide a good quality bed, and better extras than I got in city properties.

For a budget accommodation, this property went beyond my basic expectation. The room was well-appointed, clean, spacious and has good ventillation. Hotel manager was very welcoming and transparent in his communication. If affordability and practicality are your main travel considerations, this property is highly recommended should beautiful Cooktown be in your bucket list.

Over all the property was good. The bed I slept in was hard and you could feel the springs. When I woke I had a sore back and pressure points specially my hips.

Fantastic lower cost option. Well managed property
I think a lot of previous reviews can be dis-regarded as there is new management there. The new boss ( Col ) is right on top of managing this place. For the properties age it is very clean and tidy. I had one of the ensuite rooms and was very happy - comfy bed / airco / lotsa hot water. Plenty of onsite parking and if you want - full kitchen / cooking facilities available. If you're doing Cooktown on a budget, I 101% recommend this place.

Property centrally located and clean. Whilst Cooktown is isolated and accommodation might be limited, the facilities were very basic and relativey expensive. For example, there were no chairs in the room. Satisfactory for a one night stay.

The unit was small but comfortable. We had booked a unit with a kitchenette but neither of the hotplates worked! Also the motel is near the main road and heavy traffic was loud in the early morning.

Location is fine with easy parking. But did anybody clean the room? See hairs and dust on bed sheets and side table. I know it's tropical, but so many ants walking around. It comes in everywhere. WiFi does now work in ensuite room at all. Good for one night just to sleep and leave.

Not safe for motorbike travellers. I wouldn’t leave my bike park in that car park. Unless I was close to it the beds. I can feel every spring when I sat on it. I walked out, did not stay found another place.

We drove from 10.00am to 5.00pm when we arrived they told us we had no booking and said they were all booked out so we would have to find somewhere else to stay if we could find any as they said Cooktown was all booked out they offered no sugestion on what we could do . They just left us to our own devices

Had a lot of trouble booking in. Would not accept wotif booking and room was not available so had to pay an extra $30 to get a room.whuch did not have the extra bed which he said it had. The actual kitchen facilities in the room was excellent and it was very clean and tidy but it was exensive and i would never book their again with a booking agent.

DONT BOOK ON LASTMINUTE.com. As they take your money without consulting with the property managers and create other rooms that don’t exist so beware of LASTMINUTE. com as they are uncontactable and take your money without any refund. Absolute scamming site. Lesson learnt is to contact the Motel or Hotel direct and get a better deal and the correct info on hand.
