Great location for exploring Aix-les-Bains
Easy to find accomodation on the outskirts of Aix-les-Bains.Great sized room with balcony. Extra seating in the room added to the comfort. The staff were very friendly and efficient in dealing with all of our queries. A lovely spa area with outside sun loungers. The quality of food in the restaurant was good. Ideal for a short or longer stay.

Although we wake up at 04:30 am because of pipe leakage in the bathroom that caused flood all over the sleeping room , the reaction of the front desk was incredible - in a few minutes he change our room , stoped the leakage and promised not to charge our staying at that night. All other things was very good. It was a kind of nightmare but we know it can happen and its very important to know that the man from the front desk was efficient and immediately ofer us compensation.

Peaceful location and very comfortable
Set in beautiful grounds, lots of parking space (important in this area) the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and balcony perfect. The only thing that dated the hotel was that the lift/elevator was a bit old and not very smooth but that was a minor issue. Room service was the full menu brought to our room, not some burgers and fries option! Also very welcoming for our labrador - an extra 10 euro was very reasonable to include her.

A great discovery
Aix-les-Bains was a great discovery and the hotel was a perfect place to stay. Had a mountain view which was peaceful and quiet. Not far from the town and easy to visit the surrounding area. The eating area and spa looked good, but I was too busy to use it myself. Staff were very helpful.

Could be beautiful......
I found this dissapointing quality for a Mercure hotel. The best things are the food, both breakfast and dinner were lovely. Bed was very comfortable and the rooms are a great size. Staff are also excellent. The main issue here is the severe shabbiness of the whole place. Everything was stained, the decor was hanging off and ancient, carpets throughout are old & coming away, doors and fittings need replacing everywhere. Needs some serious attention.

wanted to relax...
Very, very disappointed about this Mercure Aix les Bains. The room was old and dirty. It felt like it hasn't been used for a while. Very surprising considering we paid for the privilege room (funny no for 175 euro?). The thermes were closed on Friday and Saturday. Still wondering why... maybe because it was a bank holiday? But then it means we should go to the hotel during the week when we work? The SPA is just OK, nothing fancy but it works. Bar and bartender were fine - in line with our expectations and the status of a 3 stars hotel (4 stars on the building). The reception did not speak English that well - which maybe explained why they did not bother to explain anything when we checked-in (thermes are closed, spa works, etc..). They, however, did not forget to mention the breakfast at 19 euro/ person.

Not a 4 sar hotel
Realistically this is a 3 star hotel by western measures - the room interiors are dated, there are cables underneath the sink in the bathroom that are not really adding to the overall impression of the bathroom, carpets, curtains as well as pretty much else could do with a refurb. Not a 4-star choice at breakfast either - there is a little choice but nothing one is used to from other 4-star hotels. The spa area is tiny and on one of the days the saunas were turned off 1 hr before closing times (as observed by my colleague). All in all, I would not recommend this hotel if you find another viable option. It is not the worst but it is also not what one would expect from a 4-star establishment.

Octagonal pool!
Nice place, with a beautiful park around. Nice and large (octaginal pool), and good spa facilities. You can also sunbath outside during the warm season. 15 min walk from the city centre, so location is not central, but this is the price for being surrounded by green. There is also a bus but rather infrequent. Bring slippers or flip flops for the pool since they are compulsory, and otherwise you have to buy them (I found 9 eur pretty expensive, but I never bought slippers in my life so this could be reasonable).

very disappointed to discover on arrival that some of the very basic facili-ties (including the swimming pool) were not available to children. This wasn't made explicit or implied in any off the details on hotels.com. This lack of clarity is not what I would expect from hotels.com or Mercure hotel. If we had known we would have booked somewhere else. I was left with two very disappointed kids and we struggled to explain why the empty swimming pool that they could see, they weren't allowed go in.

Rigtig fint hotel
Rigtigt fint hotel. Værelset var rigtig dejligt, med plads og fantastisk udstigt til bjerge. Morgenmad var lækkert, det samme var aftensmaden. Det gik lidt for hurtigt for personalet ved tjek ind, så da vi skulle spise om aften var der lidt misforståelser mellem personalet og os. Det sammen ved morgen, da vi stod til ikke at havde tjekket ind. Men det kom der hurtig styr på.
