Learn more about Dana Point
Catch the perfect wave at Doheny State Beach, where the surf welcomes both wobbly beginners and salty veterans. The harbour offers whale-watching excursions where captains speak of migrating giants with casual familiarity. Tide pools at the Ocean Institute reveal miniature worlds of starfish and anemones that seem designed specifically for children's delight. Dana Point Harbor's shops and restaurants occupy what might be the prettiest marina on the coast. The headland that gave this place its name inspired Richard Henry Dana Jr. to declare it 'the only romantic spot on the coast.' Nearby San Juan Capistrano offers historic adobe buildings when beach fatigue sets in. For a quieter beach experience, spread a towel at Baby Beach where gentle waters lap at the shore.

Hilton Vacation Club Riviera Beach & Shores
"I love the property. Stay here whenever I’m in town."
Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach
"Absolutely loved our stay at the Waldorf. Rooms are so spacious, modern, clean, and lux. Obsessed with the hotel grounds too and access to private beach club, lovely pool with a view. There were a few inconveniences but we loved our stay and the property/hotel staff. A couple issues came up: the valet lost our keys for an hour which freaked us out and the restaurant service was slow and they accidentally left some allergens in dishes that had to be sent back to get fixed. Also had fire alarms go off endlessly at 4 am but other than that we loved it."
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel
"Nothing tops the personal care and attention to detail at the Ritz!"
Capistrano Surfside Inn
"We loved our stay at Capistrano, the staff were wonderful, check in was easy."
