I was at the end of a 10 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia when I returned to Vietnam for a couple of nights before flying home to Australia. I chose the passion hotel on hotels.com based on the reviews and the ratings of eight out of 10 and higher. I’m happy that those guests had that experience. Unfortunately mine was not an eight out of a 10 stay. I think it’s only fair to give potential guests more information so that they can make an informed decision. It is a budget, friendly hotel for the undiscerning. First impressions are everything, and I walked from the international airport to the hotel only to find it down a narrow, dirty alley that I wouldn’t walk down after dark on my own. The small lobby had a hostel vibe about it with makeshift tables and benches and a communal microwave. Parts of the room were in disrepair. One of the windows would not close and latch and when the wind got high, it rattled constantly at night. It also allowed all the street noise into it. I just avoided going near it because it was a terrifying drop to the pavement below. The AC couldn’t be adjusted, the TV only glitched, and the Wi-Fi was weak and kept being dropped. The most important piece of furniture in any hotel is the mattress. The mattress in my room was extremely uncomfortable and I liken it to sleeping on concrete. I did hear from hotel management in the evening of my second night and they were willing to resolve my concerns. I appreciated that they took my feedback seriously.

Thế property are ok for 2*. But the night ship reception really mean. I lost my key card , when I come back to tell he that I lost my key card at the restaurant and I don’t know where is it. Instead he ask me to pay for the key (under $1) , he ask me to go to looking for the key with reason NO MORE KEY AVAILABLE! And I have no choice, looking for a key or book another room. That’s really weird .

Es ist mir ein Rätsel, wie dieses Hotel zu seiner 8.8-Sterne-Bewertung gekommen ist. Die Lage ist schlecht (weder besonders nah zum Flughafen noch zur City), die Zimmer sind gammelig und nicht sonderlich sauber. Im Bett waren Haare, es war staubig, die Toilette war dreckig und es gab keine Seife. Beim Duschen hat man aufgrund fehlender Abdichtungen das komplette Badezimmer unter Wasser gesetzt. Nachts ging die Klimaanlage aus und es wurde unerträglich heiß. Außerdem war es unfassbar laut die ganze Nacht, weil in der Lobby Lärm gemacht wurde. Finger weg von diesem Hotel!
