Hotel Barcelona House

Quite a disappointing stay really, we booked a standard double room as a couple for a few days over New Year and we got 2 single beds pushed together with 2 separate covers. We booked as a couple expecting a double bed to share and was massively disappointed when we were told no double beds are available and that we would have to come down every morning before 11am to check the availability if we still wanted to change rooms (non available for the full stay). The beds pushed apart very easily and wasn't comfy at all. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone coming up and down the lift and stairs. No lie in here with the maids walkie talkies on full blast all morning and slamming every door. The location is the only good thing about the property, right next the the Ramblas and only a 10min walk to the sea front.

The hotel was in a great location and given the proximity to La Rambla, it was lovely and quite. Rooms are adequate in size with everything you need including a safe and aircon.

Staff were really friendly, the hotel lobby was always spotless and the rooms and towels replaced each day. They were more than happy to help us order a taxi and give us directions to places. One thing to remember, DO NOT wear jewelry in this area at night, I repeat DO NOT!! Right outside the hotel, I had a man approach me at about 2 am asking if I wanted to buy drugs which I declined he then shoved me which I thought was very odd. What he had actually done was grab hold of my gold chain and push me away breaking the clasp, I realised straight after and followed him. The chain was 95% in his mouth but he gave it back, I made him get on his knees and search for the pendant which he found. he then gets up and put his hand into his man bag, I'm street smart and knew he had a weapon in there so I and two other friends backed off. No, I did not report this to Giardia, they are the most corrupt and organized gang and turn a blind eye to it all. Be careful at night please!

Great hotel! Everything you need for a few nights stay. Very clean and staff very friendly. Can be a little noisy but other than this it was perfect for us and better than what we were expecting.

This hotel has a great location just off la Rambla. Perfect for a short city break.
