Staff is really helpful and nice. The onsen style bath downstairs is a great perk for weary travelers. Location is pretty good / was a good deal. right next to a subway station jump on or off to either Umeda or Namba. Great snapshot of real Japanese life!

2/10 Poor

Room in poor condition mattress base dirty, had to turn off fridge due to the loud motor. Sink cracked, repair poor, mildew to sink. Air conditioning poor, pipe held wtth tape. Tried to look out the window frosted glass with mildew around frame. The wi fi didn’t work. If I hadn’t already paid I would have found another hotel. I will be seeking a full refund.

Not a bad room for the price, only issues I had were the room was constantly hot and issues with advertised WiFi

its a bit unusual that the front desk staffs kept asking us to leave the keys with them whenever we go out. sometimes we need to go out just for 10-15 minutes to get a coffee next block or for other purposes multiple times a day, so it is very very very very inconvenient to leave and pick up keys 10 times a day using broken hardly understood foreign language. they only provided one key per room the old fashion bulky type not the access-card type. overall its a good hotel, I give it 3.9/5.

This hotel is a run down worn building that need some repair and upgrading as specially in the toilet and some spring cleaning of the walls/wall paper and under the bed. Location of the hotel is some distant away from shopping areas there is only a small convenient store nearby.

Very old and outdated but if you just want a nights sleep at a reasonable price then it is ok. Breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about thankfully not too pricey

Overly charged!
I am very surprised to find out that I am charged for 2 person instead of I. I sepcified when I made a deal via Hotels.com that I wanted a non-smoking single person room, however, I got the room with 2 beds and was chrged $100 instead of$50 without being told.I did not have to check out because the charge was already made. After checking my bank A/C after returning home, I realized that I was ripped off!

2/10 Poor

Worse than budget hotel
Very old and dirty hotel at a remote place though it's near to the station. Overpriced with no breakfast. Wifi not available in room. Water heater hard to adjust. Room heater doesn't seem to be working even though it showed 30 degree Celsius, the room was freezing cold. Staff do not speak or understand English. Even budget hotels like Toyoko Inn or Super Hotel are much cheaper and cleaner with good breakfast provided. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone even for a night stay. It will definitely spoil your holiday in Japan.

Good Enough
Room was clean, small but big enough. There was no wifi other than in the lobby. Right next to a subway station. I would probably go back for the price it was asking.

convenient location, kind staffs
The hotel was conveniently located close to Awaza subway station. The staffs were always kind and nice and the room was adequate. My friend and I rented hotel's bicycle for two days and it was the best thing they had.

Great for budget solo travel
This place is definitely a little aged. I've stayed in aged places before, but this one is worn down and aged. But you do feel safe there and the staff is nice. Getting to the subway is extremely easy and the location for that is pretty good. There isn't much to do around the area though. However, for the price what you get is very good. I stayed solo and was able to get a room with only a single twin bed. The area where the other twin bed was supposed to be was gone, so I actually had a lot of space. Also, I did notice an unpleasant smell in the morning. But the night before I just left a few centimeters of water in the tub and plugged it up overnite and had no problems.

I will certainly stay there again
The only things I have to comment on were :1) morning calls not punctual. 2) the English ability of some staff needs improvement. However, they try very hard to help and the staff backed up each other. So, the problem was small. 3) only Japanese breakfast was served; however, I am not a fussy person and as long as I have something hot and a hot coffee in the morning, it was fine with me. 4) one out of my 4 night stay -- the room was not tidied properly. 5) the heater was a bit too much for me the first night and I had to open the window a bit to let in cool air. Other nights were fine. 6) Having said the above, it was a pleasant surprise to find out there was a hot bath in the basement, and I used it two times. 7) I was given a room with a 4-feet bed. 8) Sound insulation was acceptable. I did not hear the noise in other rooms except when people were talking in the corridor. 9) in conclusion, I will certainly stay there again if I ever go to Osaka. After getting used to the public transport system, the hotel is quite conveniently located. Although there were not much life around the area, it was only 3 subway stations away from Osaka and Namba. I usually had my dinner in Namba before taking the subway back to the hotel, and the neighbourhood is safe.

Nice hotel and staff, close to subway.
The hotel is just 1min walk from Awaza subway exit 1. Although the room is small, it is clean. Even if you put "do not disturb" on the door the whole day, they would still provide fresh towels and hang it on the door! The only down sides are TV card needs to be purchased before we could watch a TV. The wifi is also only available on 1st floor; these two items are not described as per their website. The staff are very helpful and they speak simple English. They will patiently guide you how to go to a particular place or provide information. Thumbs up! They also provide free breakfast which is fresh and piping hot. This is good as there is hardly any eatery in the area unless you don mind the convenience store. Overall, this hotel may be recommended due to its three catching points: 1) extremely near to subway. 2) provides breakfast which you need to pay extra at other hotels. 3) an onsen that is new and free which is not available at other hotels.

Comfortable, affordable accommodation in Osaka
I'd recommend this hotel if you're looking for a cheap but comfortable place to stay in Osaka. It's about what you'd expect for the money -- no frills, not bad, not great -- although I'd put it more towards the good side of the scale. The staff is friendly and helpful, you can add a breakfast option for about 700 yen per day, the hotel and the rooms are reasonably clean, the beds are comfortable, and it's located right by the entrance to the Azawa stop on the Chuo subway line. The surrounding neighborhood isn't very exciting (it's mostly business hotels), but you can get to pretty much anywhere in the city in about 10 minutes if you take the subway, and you don't have to worry about getting back if you miss the last subway train since taxis are cheap and plentiful in Osaka.

Best value for your money
This is simply the best value for your money. It's close to a subway station, you get private rooms and bathrooms, private refrigerator, free breakfast buffet, and a spa underground! The rooms are fairly small but that's to be expected of any japanese establishment unless you're paying the big bucks for space. The beds are big so there's only about a width of an average person in between and not much else space. Again, just come expecting that (Japan is VERY crowded) and you'll be fine. The staff mostly speak minimal english, but they get the message across, and they are very very courteous. The only drawback is no fault of the hotel, is that some of the guests smoke in the fire escapes so if you're living next to one (as i did) you may have to keep the bathroom door open and continuously turn on the ventilation system to keep the smell out. Other than that, fantastic!

In sketchy area
This hotel is in need of an update. While its amenities are similar to that of hotels of similar price elsewhere in Osaka, its funished have a retro 70's feel. The hotel is located right by an elevated highway (which is noisy) and staff confiscate your key as you come and go for "safety". The Wifi is available only in the lobby and is so shaky that it does not work at all if two or more people are trying to use the internet.
