We really enjoyed our stay at the Topside Inn. Overall it was a great experience with one caveat. The property itself is in a really great location and provides stunning views. The staff was attentive and the breakfast spread was really good. The carrot cake pancakes may have been the best pancakes I’ve ever had! The only issue we encountered was the room definitely had a damp smell to it right when we got there. We got used to it but it did take a bit away from our stay.

We were greeted warmly when we arrived and given a free drink. The room was well appointed with a great deck view of the harbor and was within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Our stay at Topside Inn exceeded expectations. Christy provided exceptional service, preparing thoughtful birthday surprises for my mother and arranging a corner room with wonderful views. This may be the cleanest hotel I've ever been to. Great location on top of a hill near downtown Boothbay. The main house's veranda and breakfast area is everything you'd want from a seaside hotel. Food was delicious and I appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room, as well as access to other drinks in the main house. Expedia put us in the wrong room and the staff was helpful in getting us a refund for the difference in price. Note, if you're on the lower floor, you will hear the footsteps of the people above you.
