Hotel Posta - Palazzo Guidoni

Hotel Posta - Palazzo Guidoni

10/10 Excellent
"Rooms were small but clean and had all the necessary items. Good AC, thankfully, as Orvieto was very hot. Breakfast (included) was simple but good. The staff were friendly, fast and helpful. Two items to note: 1) Hotel signage is very subtle. Believe your Apple Maps. It’s there. 2) Parking is scarce. Plan to walk a bit. Good overall. Thanks!"

Grand Hotel Italia

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was so much better in person than it looked online. The rooms were large and we had a balcony with outdoor seating. The staff were very nice and helpful, the air conditioning worked well which was appreciated as it was very hot while we were there. The breakfast buffet was lovely. The location was central to everything. Maybe not perfect for people with mobility issues, as there are some stairs to negotiate here and there, but that is true of many hotels in historic areas."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Orvieto

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Orvieto is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices are typically lower. To fully appreciate the city's key historical landmarks and cultural attractions, such as the magnificent cathedral, engaging tours, charming cafes, and scenic countryside, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to enjoy the great value for money offered by the city’s monuments, opera performances, and cheese tastings, all while being mindful of a budget. Additionally, prices may drop during these months, making it an even more budget-friendly option for travellers.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals for hotels in Orvieto, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, where you could find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions. With the Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window tool available via the app, you can compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make the best choice. If rooms become available or prices drop, you may be among the first to know, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could potentially help you find a better deal on your stay in an Orvieto hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordable options.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Orvieto's outstanding public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
