Everything was good with the hotel it just not much to do quite, we had to cross the bridge to the other side of penang which it around 20 minutes and 20 min to go back with no traffic

Wonderful stay at the Light Hotel. We enjoyed using the pool and the gym. The staff were very attentive. The location was close to other places to eat - we would recommend Jom Banana Leaf directly opposite the hotel. Exceptional breakfast too! We will definitely return.

The hotel is quite new, clean and tidy, overall very good experience and will stay there again when I am back to Penang

Staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Everything is brand new and lovely. Rooms are elegant and spacious with an excellent shower. Great location for walking to Little India, Little China, the heritage area, jetties, street art, and many eateries of all kinds. Beautiful rooftop infinity pool with towels and shower.

Excellent hotel with great staff.

Its a wonderful building with very pleasant staff. Limited food options, but many local places to eat. Rooms are lovely, with lots of space. Road noise can be an issue, but wasnt for me.

Nearly a 2 week stay at Ascott Gurney. A lovely hotel with great facilities. Rooms were spacious and clean.. Lovely downstairs bar / reception area. Swimming pool area was great.. separate covered pool area for children to use..gym well equipped and with good air con. Location of the hotel is really good. You can walk into George Town if you want (approx 40 minutes) or take a taxi which won't cost a lot. Opposite the hotel is a recently completed park / walking area, very pleasant. Shopping...

This hotel is so very beautiful and unique, expressing love for a vibrant bygone age that was the Peranakan Chinese in the late 19C and early 20C in the highly decorated southern Chinese furniture, objets and gilded carpentry in the hotel's overall decor, as well as the use of Victorian floor tiles which was favoured for both their beauty and practicality. Standards are some of the highest anywhere, in stylish and unique decor, cleanliness (pristine), friendliness and helpfulness of the staff...

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights. The hotel features in the World Boutique Hotel Awards Collection 2015 and rightly so. With 11 beautiful bedrooms, library, roof terrace, stylish traditional design and friendly staff who make every effort made to accommodate customers exacting requirements this as good as it gets. Just don't expect an olympic sized swimming pool, gymnasium and conference facilities.

Friendly staff and clean rooms

The hotel is a tranquil oasis in busy George Town. The building is elegant and the interior of the hotel is tastefully styled. Overall it was very comfortable for our 5 night stay. Best of all is the team of staff who attended us through our stay. They are very friendly, helpful and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel.
