Lovely place to stay
Lovely place to stay! Such a shame that the pool was out of order but Mr Sam and staff offered a free light breakfast daily and transport to beach if required.Great room with comfy bed and even a bath! Location is great as you can still walk to the beach. Always a smile from everyone and the grounds were kept immaculate.

Upon check-in we were greeted by two men that were unfamiliar with the check-in process. They gave us the wrong room, tried to keep our passports, and after getting us to our room, knocked on the door for the next hour (three separate occasions) to make sure we were okay. Our first impression of the room was that it was the bare minimum room when we paid for their best room with a view. The curtains didn’t cover the windows completely and were open to the main walk way so there was no privacy. The blackout curtains they advertised were actually white lace. The bed had dead bugs in it. The sink and all surrounding areas had dirt everywhere. The linens had holes in them and were stained. The entrance to the bungalow had ants all over the door and door knob. The next morning we noticed that the pool had a massive crack in it and was rendered out of service. The staff was very rude as we voiced our concerns and acknowledged that we were put in their minimal room and didn’t give us a refund. I’ve stayed many places in Thailand that were fantastic but this one was by far the worst. I don’t recommend it to anyone for any reason.

Glad we chose this one
Lovely spacious Thai style bungalows in a quiet location away from all the action of Lamai but close enough for an easy walk to markets, beach, night spots and massage. Our bungalow was up a steep hill but our luggage was carried up for us & the reward was a fantastic seaview with a breeze & privacy. Beautiful gardens, large pool with amazing rock formations & plants surrounding. The breakfast was simple but all we needed & with a delicious range of homemade jams. The hosts & staff were very friendly so overall we were relaxed & happy withour stay. The reasonable price was a bonus.

Lovely hotel but investment required.
The hotel is in a fabulous location with amazing grounds however it is a bit run down and some repairs are below standard.
The rooms are on a hillside and it's very steep and is very hard to climb to the top rooms, very hard indeed so be careful if you're not really fit. It was such a struggle I changed rooms to one at the bottom near to the pool.
The pool itself is brilliant and gets sun all day long but again is let down by the lack of useable sunbeds and parasols. The pool furniture is in need of replacement as most is not fit for purpose.
Our first room was a deluxe room but again was not fit to house guests. It was borderline derilect and I'm no snob and it was cheap but basics were broken and should not have been used.
Fortunately the killer hill combined with the poor state of our room gave me all the reasons to move to the family room at additional cost but worth it to us. Much better condition although still has issues with repairs being poor and broken furniture and bathroom fittings.
The staff were brilliant and due to the early season visit 31/03/18 to 14/04/18 they were on constant view and very helpful.
I loved my stay but with a few investments on the rooms and grounds it would have been idilic.

Lovely being in the bungalows high in the lush trees spread up the hillside. Good pool.
Great value, large private rooms, well serviced daily. But skip the provided breakfast - disappointing.
Steep property not suitable for anyone with mobility problems, but it makes the landscape a charming adventure.

My friends and I were upgraded to a garden bungalow upon arrival as there was three of us and we wanted an extra bed and there wouldn't have been enough space in the room we had been allocated. Had to pay for the extra bed there and then, would have paid when I made three booking if I had known, not sure if it is Hotels.com or the hotels fault for not making it clear you have to pay for an extra bed despite the booking being for 3 adults. Disappointingly, the extra bed was actually just a mattress on the floor. The bungalow itself was spacious, clean and had a nice balcony. The bathroom was a bit dark and the shower was only ever like warm. I would have also liked a kettle in the room. The staff at Searine were really friendly and very helpful in organising us a tour when the pick up for the one we had organised failed to show! I can't thank them enough for this. We enjoyed the pool, although there are not many sun loungers so get there early if you're hoping to spend the day by the pool! There was a set menu for breakfast - a 'fry up' or fruit, museli and yoghurt - the later was much preferred as the anemic ham and questionable 'sausages' didn't get my appetite going. The hotel itself is only a 5min walk to the heart of Lamai where you'll find plenty of bars and restaurants and of course the beach! Overall our stay was good but I'm not certain I would rush back.

Beautiful resort with amazing staff
I can't say enough good things about searine samui. Both check in and check out were quick and easy, the staff are some of the friendliest people I have met in Thailand and will go above and beyond to help you with anything you may need. The rooms are spacious and clean with ac and a comfortable bed, they even made our towels into swans and put fresh flower petals around the room a very nice touch. There is a large multi level pool deep enough to actually swim with lounge chairs all around the edge giving you some shade. The location is only a 10 minute walk to Lamai beach but far enough away to avoid the noise of the nightlife. This is an amazing value for your money and the best place that we have stayed in Thailand so far, friendly staff really make a difference. I would return to Samui just to stay here I only wish we could have stayed longer than one night.

Good for peace and quiet
Yes it has a hill but doesnt hurt getting a workout after a few drinks or a big meal!
Rooms are amazing- i fell in love with the outdoor bathroom.
The staff are SENSATIONAL, they organised day tours and ferry transfers for me which helped so much.
The main street is 5 mins away and the beach about 10.
Pool was lovely and they make amazing cocktails :)
I highly recommend this hotel- it was great

Hotel ok, breakfast pretty rubbish if you want a cooked one but muesli and yoghurt really nice. Staff very rude and room really warm even with air con but a lovely pool in a great location and the rooms are enormous which I think is why the air con doesn't work very well.

Bad service, no shuttle as announced
We were very disappointed, especially by the reception staff! Not friendly at all. They asked us to pay 400bath for 1 breakfast plate that fell down accidentally. I bought 3 bigger plates and better quality to replace the one broken, but they only wanted money!!! They came to our room twice to ask for the money... Plus, the wifi did not work in the room, on the hill. There was no shuttle to Lamai beach. So, stay away from this hotel, there are plenty of guest house much better than this hotel.
