Lovely building with great views of the cathedral. Rooms clean and spacious. Booked 2 twin rooms for 4 pensioners. Only criticism was one room had bath with a shower head but no shower curtain or wall fixing to secure the shower head to have a shower. Wasn’t expected and was rather inconvenient for elderly occupants. That said we had a lovely stay

When you stay here you have to allow for an old building with old plumbing etc. the parking is excellent, location second to none, easy walk to the town, and the breakfast, make sure you don’t miss it, Would I recommend it, omg yes but don’t expect 5 star but do expect lovely staff, history all about you and memories that will last a lifetime

Stayed in a basic single room, not en-suite but it was clean, quiet and comfy. Bathroom etc all fine, towels/shower gel provided. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast a nice selection of options. Ok, let me be clear. You don't stay here if you expect "high end" living. The beds are conformable but rooms are a bit dated. Breakfast is all right. You choose this for the historic feel and the sorrundings. Amazing! Expect to live in an historic house and an old institution, with all that comes with that. People are very friendly and the atmosphere is "old school" nice.

It's a nice feeling to be inside a college dorm and inside the Cathedral Close. The location is perfect. Our room was big with a bow window, but the curtains were not black out drapes. Breakfast was good and the parking on site was very convenient. The corridor was a little noisy when other guest talked at night or in the morning, but there were few of them. Overall, a great experience.
