"I came here as a kid, and it was the best hotel I’ve ever been to, so I waited over a decade to come back with my own family, but was disappointed with our experience.
They now charge for parking at the hotel which was not mentioned before our stay, not a huge deal, but we are a one income household, and it wasn’t in our budget for this trip. Check-in was easy and staff was friendly.
We get into our room and are met with a very bad odor. The bathroom looked like housekeeping forgot to set it up for the next guest. We did not have a bar of soap, no face towels or body wash so I had to go back down to the desk to ask for those things. The toilet bowl was a little dirty, and there was food on the floor.
Thankfully, one of the employees had texted me asking how the stay was going so far and I let them know and they quickly upgraded our room for us, which I am so thankful for.
Our new room smelled much better, we had a beautiful view with a balcony, and our bathroom was fully stocked. We spent the rest of the night enjoying the patio and then went to bed because we were exhausted.
When we woke up the next morning, I noticed our blankets and sheets were dirty and covered in dark stuff. That touched my toddler’s face and I don’t know what it was. I am pretty grossed out.
For the price we paid for the stay, drinks and food vs the amount of disappointment we experienced, I don’t think I will be back, unfortunately."
