Wonderful Stay
Everything was wonderful. The only opportunities were that the shower was quite small (very difficult to shave legs, but great water pressure and warm) and the WiFi was slow and cell service was limited. We had a great time!

Peace of mind
The staff here are truly incredible. We saw other reviews mentioning this and that’s what caught our attention. Safe to say they were as great as everyone else way saying. Mauricio (we think that’s his name, sorry if that’s wrong) was so kind. He helped us get situated with where we were in the city and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk from the main train terminal which is nice. Our room was super clean and cool which was a huge relief to return to after walking around all day. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the curtains kept the light out, and the noise level wasn’t anything to fuss over. The hotel was in an area that felt quite safe and it was also close enough to be able to walk to most areas. Or a 10-15 minute walk to the metro if you’re looking to travel further. If we ever return to Rome we’ll definitely hope to stay here again.

Two issues, I the beds were not hard as a rock and the room was directly behind the check in desk and heard every conversation at night and early mornings. Rest of hotel was clean and good service for a typical downtown older hotel. The hotel is on the third level with other businesses or apartments on the other floors.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful building. Federico, front desk was simply fantastic. I was working from the hotel I went to buy water and asked if they were selling anything and he felt bad when he said they did not. He noticed that I could not leave as needed to work so he gave me his own peach!! I replaced it later but such a great gesture. The room was big w/ AC. The bathroom was small but clean. Small elevator / lift but enough to go go up with luggage to the 3rd floor where the hotel is. The hotel was close to the sites & the main train station. Will definitely consider going back.

Hotel Oceania is a good family-run hotel. We were there for a few days and the staff who run the hotel is great. Keep in mind this hotel is on the 3rd floor and the elevator is slow so I wouldn’t recommend bringing a huge luggage to a site like this. The hotel could improve the wifi speed to help travellers who may need to use the internet at night time for checking into flights or looking up sites etc. It was really slow and frustrating at times to use. The rooms are little dated and could use a refresh, but they are clean and the AC works well in the rooms. The cleaning staff kept turning our AC off in the day so keep in mind it’ll be a bit warm when you get back and you will have to turn it back on. But when it is on, it’s very good! I found the area it was in to be okay - I may have wanted to be a bit more in the central downtown but for the price it’s a very reasonable area.

We just returned from a one week stay at the Hotel Oceania and would recommend it to anyone looking for a more casual, friendly experience with wonderfully kind staff and rooms that are cozy and comfortable in an historic building that exudes the charm of Italy! Throughout our entire stay, from the private transfer they so kindly booked to meet us at the airport upon arrival (we emailed them before our trip to request this service), to being welcomed by the owners and front desk staff after a long day of travel, to the 24/7 availability of a friendly face for tourist tips or the offer of a cold bottle of water, to the genuine smiles and farewells from all the staff before checkout, we felt we had made the right decision with the Hotel Oceania. Our room was small but we found we still had plenty of room for two of us and it was spotlessly clean (as others have said, the shower is tiny but manageable). There was also a small fridge for keeping our own cold drinks or some small snacks purchased at a nearby grocery store. The AC was spectacular and such a relief to come back to each day. We only had the breakfast on the first and last days as we wanted to explore other options for food. There are many amazing restaurants within a short walk down quaint side streets. We could walk to many of the main attractions within 20 minutes and the Metro was 5 mins away! *As an added FYI, there is a lift to the hotel on the 3rd floor but be prepared to walk up if it is out of service.

Quite lively
Everything was lovely except the elevator didn’t work for the first few days and there is 170 steps to our floor, and construction on first floor so limited space. As a person with a health issue this limited my access to the room as unable to climb multiple times in 1 day without pain. Customer service was great snd staff very helpful, but again elevator a big deal
