Great place for a Short Break
Check in was at the pub, only by the landlady, who was on the phone when we arrived. No problem, we had a drink while we waited. A short walk to the accomodation, where we were shown how to operate the boiler. We had booked the 2 bedroom cottage, and we found it clean, modern and spacious. Just like a modern semi bungalow in fact. Bedding and towels were provided and were spotless. Well equipped kitchen, with oven grill and hob, fridge freezer, microwave and kettle. No dishwasher, not a problem. You will need to supply your own washing up gloves, cloths and teatowels. A short walk takes you to the main road into Filey. Across the road is a road that winds it way past residential housing and to the beach, with access to Primrose Valley. Along the route is a very pleasant little park with lake and benches. Filey is about 2 miles away, around £7.50 by taxi or a ride on the local bus service. We ate in the pub one night and found the service excellent, the food very good, and the staff lovely.

Overnight break.
We stayed here to attend a concert in Scarborough, although the pub/accommodation was a bit further out then we usually try to stay, we were driving as we had stayed elsewhere the previous night, the drive from central Scarborough was pretty straightforward. We were given the room key along with the front door key to gain access to the room, so later returns are fine. Our room was a large room with a double bed and bunk beds too so i guess a family room. The storage units and bathroom were a bit dated, but everything was nice and clean and the hospitality tray was good, with biscuits, tea and coffee. I had breakfast, which was to order, it was a bit early for my hubby, but I was offered a bacon or sausage sandwich to take back to the room for him, very much appreciated. We had a lovely stay in this family run pub.
