6/10 Good

A stay in Alpine with two kids.
Beautiful main lobby. As you start looking you notice some issues. The outdoor patio could use some repair. Had a sign for a pop up bar in the evenings and it wasn’t the case. No restaurant I believe due to refurbishment. Not an issue for us, but the elevator was out of order. Could see that being an issue for others. Rooms were nice for it being a historical hotel. You can hear anyone talking in their rooms from the stair case. They offer earplugs in the room possibly for that but also for the train that passes across the street over night. Bathroom faucets covered in hard water deposit but the water pressure was magical. Was like being pressure washed but not painful. Probably our favorite aspect of the entire stay. Great after being at big bend all day. Mattresses are spring and could be replaced. Definitely old and reminds you that you’re getting old after a nice of sleeping on them. Barely move and you hear the mattress squeak. Location was nice in relevance of being easy to find and maneuver through town. Limited parking, if you don’t park out front of the hotel. Staff was nice.

6/10 Good

I must say this was probably one of the worse hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The walls are paper thin. We were able to hear everything from the room next to us. They were up until past 3am yelling and slamming doors. This not only impacted our ability to sleep but the conversations we could clearly hear through the walls were quite unsettling. While this isn’t really the hotels fault, they did not have staff on site after 7pm in the evening so we were not able to address our concern. Even though there was nothing else wrong with the hotel, based on this experience I’m not sure I’d stay here again or recommend it to anyone I knew.

8/10 Very good

The proximity of the railroad tracks is definitely an inconvenient, but the location is ideal for waking downtown Alpine. We are wishing the best in the remodeling process for the next year or so...

2/10 Poor

The worst part of the stay was the railroad crossing right across the street from our room. Trains went by at all time of the night and early morning , blasting the horn. We wondered why the hotel put ear plugs on the bedsides table. Ear plugs didn't help at all - it was so loud - at 12:20 am, 2am, 5am, 6:30am. I was so furious and sleep deprived.

6/10 Good

The building itself is beautiful. The room with the king size bedroom looked beautiful too. But, the king size bed was terrible you could feel every spring and the bathtub was very dirty. And at midnight the train pass a block away from the hotel and at midnight pass honking very loud. Locación is very convenient Staff were very friendly. Suggest to change beds and clean the bathtubs.

2/10 Poor

We had to take cold showers there was no hot water. The coffee pot didn’t have an outlet near it. Had to brew coffee in bathroom. We had to wait for a cart to take luggage to room, they only have one.
