November / December we stayed 2 weeks in the Le Manguier in Tartane. Our first impression was that our room is a bit small. We have stayed in other self catering apartments in the Caribbean before and out of them this was the smallest. That said, it has a lovely view over the Tartane bay. The kitchen is located outside and was functional. The fact that it was outside helped with space inside. The view was amazing, on most days you coulds even see La Dominica in the distance.
You would need a car, without a car you would be stuck. Only with a car you can get to places like Saint Pierre and the Mont Pelee, to Rhum museums or to the next supermarket which is just outside the Tartane peninsula. There is a petrol station shop in the town where you can walk every morning to get fresh bread/crossants or the basic needs but the next supermarket is too far too walk.
A super beach is in walking distance. There are mangrove walks just a few minutes drive away from the hotel and there are places all over Martinique.
The staff was very attentive and very friendly. Whatever we needed was there, towels and bedlinen were often changed and it was nice to talk to anyone in the hotel.
There is a nice small and deep pool available for guests which we used a few times. Breakfast is was also available but we made our own breakfast on the super nice balcony.
So overall very happy with everything, the room could have been a bit bigger for two weeks. We had a car and really needed it.
