The first impression at front door was disappointing. The area was not swept or dusted . There were spiders and webs between most bricks and windows and had obviously been there for quite a while. The front door mat and surrounds were covered in bunches of old leaves. The inside was fine and comfortable but all over didn’t live up to our expectations

Liked the Coonara, having a fridge, comfortable furniture, easy to gain entry with convenient info sent ahead of arrival, good water pressure in shower, overall very comfortable and welcoming Only criticism - towels very thin and only 2 of them.

Such a great experience staying in such an old property with such modern conveniences inside. And having the heating on and the fire ready to go on our arrival in the middle of winter was perfect!

Relaxing place to stay outside of Canberra. Comfy, quiet, relaxing atmosphere- the local eggs and bacon left for the included breakfast are delicious. Nice little bakery in nearby Sutton However do NOT go on the unsealed road “Marked Tree rd” which Google maps wants to direct you to. Take the slightly longer tarma ed actual road that takes you through Sutton!

Our room at The Nest was just lovely, even better than the photos. And the little town is really quaint but also had everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean, quiet, and had all the items for a relaxing night. The bed was so comfy, the bathroom spacious and luxurious with a rain shower head which was greatly appreciated after our long trip. It is so close to Canberra too. Just lovely. Thank you

Amazing place to stay. We stopped for a night, had a fantastic log fire burning and the accommodation is so spacious and almost like home! We will be sure to be back!

The Nest is a lovely spot to hide away for a few days. The Magpie cabin was tidy, spacious and had a well-equipped kitchenette. Waking to birds in the morning and the sun pouring in from the verandah (where I sat and ate breakfast) was a treat. I love that it's also a low-contact (self-check-in) stay, but the service I received after leaving a small toiletry bag behind was excellent.

We couldn't have asked for more. We stayed here for my husband's 50th birthday and went to dinner at Grazing. The property was just beautiful.....well presented and clean with everything we needed. We had a fire going within minutes of arriving. There's bacon and eggs provided for breakfast with toast, cereal and coffee/tea. It felt like everything had been thought of. We can't wait to come back we loved it so much.

Not what we expected given the advertising
To be fair this was probably a case of a square peg in a round hole. We were looking for a few days in a luxurious quiet place and unfortunately this isn’t it. The Heron is the first cabin and faces the Main Street as well as the local cafe. This results in the early morning tyre noise every 15 or so seconds as the morning commute from somewhere to somewhere begins. This is then joined by the extractor fan for the cafe that runs all day until about 5pm. There is a veranda but without screening you are left looking at the main road and the patrons of the cafe. The key was in a safe but the code set to us didn’t match what eventually turned out to be the correct one. The ashtray outside still contained stubs and the deck looked dirty. Inside the cabin is rustic and comfortable (note bed is super soft style) but certainly not luxurious. Towels and toiletries were of medium level of quality and in fact some of the dispenser units were out of product. Breakfast is supplied and is basic but adequate. The cleaner turned up in the afternoon of our three night stay and was polite and had the next day’s breakfast but was not seen the following day. We stayed on a Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday night and the guests driving past our cabin was quite noticeable however did settle down. The internet is very good and the interior was clean with just the occasional web (to be fair it is in the country and they looked very fresh) Ok for a single night, certainly not luxurious but clean
