Above & Beyond
When I learned my flight was delayed, I called to let the hotel know I'd be late. I was told it would be no problem and that I should call when I arrived. After multiple flight issues, I didn't arrive at the hotel until almost 2 A.M., but was welcomed with a smile and made to feel like a valued customer. I learned the building where the hotel is had previously been a jail and even stayed in the former clinic. The breakfast the next morning was excellent, but the reason I'll return the next time I'm in the area is because of the customer service focus. I'd highly recommend Hotel Fronfeste!

Not your typical hotel—loved it
The fact that the hotel used to be a prison makes it an interesting (I prefer not to use the word “fun”) place to stay. You can stay in a former cell or one of the larger rooms (such as the former doctor’s room) if traveling with another person. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean (we stayed there twice in two different rooms), and a nice breakfast buffet is available that is just the right size.

Hotel with Character
Amazing hotel! 5/5, would stay again! Matter of fact, was my second time staying at this hotel! This hotel is Amberg’s old jail/prison. That being said, naturally, it has all been remodeled and renovated. Beautifully may I add. The character of the hotel and rooms is lovely. From reception, to the room/bathroom, to the buffet breakfast, and checking out/departure, 5/5! Bonus, they do have English speaking employees and a parking garage (only cost us €3.50 for 12 hrs) a short walk away.
