23 May 2026All good. A little pricey at £168 for one night, but to be honest, it was a bank holiday weekend. Good location, really good food, friendly staff and clean. Old building, as to be expected, so you could hear all the creaks, bangs and TVs from the other rooms. Dog friendly which was perfect for us. Would stay again

It's a stately building fairly well maintained, though the elevator access on floor 1 is hindered by the carpeting that restricts the door from opening. Yes you have to manually open the door to access the 50 + year old elevator and make sure it doesnt swallow any body part when the door closes, very cool. The food in the attached restaurant/ pub was good, though the service was hindered by only 1 person doing everything, hotel check in and restaurant duties.

The staff were so friendly and amenable, the only downside was if you want a lie in and you’ve ordered breakfast you won’t get one as breakfast is served between 7.30am till 8.30am also towels not big enough for a shower or bath

Clean room with ensuite facilities. Friendly staff at hotel. Good choice for breakfast (full Welsh+options). Excelent meals otherwise - good potions of all meals taken which were piping hot and freshly made - impressed! A bit out of the way but worth the effort.

The staff were incredibly warm and helpful and the location cannot be rivaled. We definitely have plans to return the next time we're in the UK.
