Opening/Closing Date and Time

The Competition opens to entries at 00:00 BST on 7 September 2023 and closes at 23:59 BST on 12 September 2023. (“Competition Period”).

Eligibility

Entrants must be (i) residents of the United Kingdom; and (ii) aged 18 years or older.

Entrants may not be (a) members of any guild, union or other organization that may prohibit them from participating in this Competition and that would restrict, require due payment or otherwise have the right to oppose such entrant’s participation in this Competition; (b) anyone connected in a professional capacity with the Competition and/or be that person’s immediate family members; (c) an employee or contractor of Amazon Prime Video (“Amazon”) or Hotels.com, LP (“Hotels.com”) and its affiliates worldwide.

How to Enter

To enter the Competition for a chance to win, Entrants should go to  https://uk.hotels.com/lp/b/thecontinental] during the Competition Period and complete the entry form and explain "What do you love most about the John Wick universe?" (the “Entry”). Only one Entry allowed per person and email address.

Each Entry submitted must be the original creation of the Entrant.

Prize

There are twenty-five prizes (each a "Prize") consisting of an immersive one-night stay for the winner and a guest at The Continental Hotel in London 25-27 Whitby St, London E1 6JU, United Kingdom on 21 September 2023, ahead of the new series launch on Prime Video on Friday 22nd September 2023. Each winner will also be able to attend an exclusive screening of episode one of The Continental: From the World of John Wick at Shoreditch screening room, before it launches to the world on Friday 22nd September, together with one guest (the “Screening”).

Prize winner and their guest are responsible for their own travel expenses in relation to making their way to and from The Continental Hotel and the Screening.

Amazon shall have no liability or responsibility in the event that the Screening is delayed, rescheduled or cancelled or that the location of the Screening moves. Prize winner's guest must be over the age of 18.

Prize winner and their guest are strictly forbidden from taking photographs, video or any footage of the Screening (e.g. by using any mobile phone or any other recording equipment). Prize winners and their guests undertake to Amazon that they will not give to any person or organisation any interview or make, give or release any statement or comment for publication by any means or medium relating to the content of the “The Continental: From the World of John Wick”.

Prize winner and their guest agree to the filming and recording of them and their voice (if required by Amazon) and any interview they may give in connection with the Screening (the “Contribution”) which may be used at the sole discretion of Amazon in whole or in part or not at all. You irrevocably grant and assign to Amazon any and all copyright and other rights and consents or waive the same so as to permit the fullest use and exploitation throughout the world of the Contribution or any part(s) thereof by all means and in all media (without limitation) whether now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity in connection with the “The Continental: From the World of John Wick” or otherwise. You accept that Amazon has the right to edit, copy, adapt or translate the Contribution as deemed fit and you irrevocably waive the benefits of and agree not to assert any provision of law known as “moral rights” or any similar laws of any jurisdiction.

Winner Selection

On the 13 September 2023, each qualified Entry will be judged and rated by a panel of judges from Amazon Prime Video in order to choose the twenty-five (25) winning Entries; and

The winning Entries will be selected based on the following criteria:

(a) originality of content and how interesting the Entrant’s answer is to the line “What do you love most about the John Wick universe?”; and (b) humorousness of the Entry (collectively, the “Judging Criteria”).

The winners will be notified by email to the address provided on the entry form completed when the Entry was submitted, within 48 hours after the end of the judging period stated above (“Notification”). The winner will have 48 hours from Amazon sending the Notification to respond to Amazon and confirm acceptance of the Prize. Absent such timely response and acceptance, the winner will have no further claim to the Prize, and Amazon will be free to choose a substitute winner to award the Prize to.

If a selected winner (or any substitute winner) is ineligible, cannot be reached, or fails to claim the Prize within 48 hours of notification, that winner (or substitute winner) will forfeit the Prize and it will be awarded to a substitute winner. If, having attempted to contact a winner and a substitute winner, Amazon is unable to award a Prize, Amazon reserves the right to consider the Prize unclaimed.

This process is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Non-winners will not be notified. The name of the winners and their county of residence will be provided on receipt of a written request sent to thecontinental@ddapr.com within 30 days of the end of the judging period.

By accepting the Prize, Entrants consent to the use of their name, county of residence, likeness and/or Prize information for promotional and other purposes without further payment, except where prohibited by law. The winner may be required to participate in Amazon's reasonable marketing and promotional activities and by entering into the Competition you consent to participate in such activities in the event that you are the winner.

This Competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Entry implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions (and any amendments to them) which are final and binding in all respects. Amazon reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant from the Competition if, in its sole judgement, the Entrant has not complied with these Terms and Conditions, has tampered with the operation of the Competition, or has engaged in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Amazon, the Competition, and Entrant represents and warrants that he/she and their guest are not subject to sanctions or otherwise designated on any list of prohibited or restricted persons maintained by the UN Security Council and/or any other applicable government authority.

Please Note: If selected as a winner, Amazon, or its prize provider agency will use the information submitted by the winning Entrant in connection with this Competition to fulfil the Prize. If a Prize winner is unable to participate in the Prize during the dates specified, Amazon or its prize provider agency may select an alternative winner for the Prize. Winner and guest must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize and/or removal from the Screening. The Prize carries no cash value and may not be transferred or substituted, except that Amazon may, at its sole discretion, substitute the Prize won with a prize of equal or greater value. Any unclaimed Prize remains the property of Amazon.

Entry to the Competition is limited to one Entry per person and per email address. Amazon will only accept entries that are completed and submitted in the format designated. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. Duplicate entries are not permitted and will be disregarded. Proof of electronic submission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. All valid entries are deemed to be entered into the Competition on the day of receipt by Hotels.com.

Amazon reserves the right in its sole and unfettered discretion to disqualify at any time any Entry containing obscene, offensive, pornographic or sexually explicit material, or libellous, disparaging, infringing or other inappropriate content or subject matter (as determined by Amazon in its sole discretion). All Entries, and materials submitted to Amazon in connection with the Competition (collectively, “Entry Materials”), along with all associated copyright and other proprietary rights, except as reserved by relevant third parties, become the property of Amazon upon submission, and any Entry Materials will not be returned to any entrant. With effect for any jurisdiction that does not recognize the transferral of copyright, each Entrant grants to Amazon a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and exclusive license unlimited in scope in and to their Entry Materials and any proprietary rights therein for Amazon to use the Entry Materials in every media and form, including without limitation the right to copy, modify, broadcast, distribute, advertise or market, or make available the Entry Materials. 

By submitting an Entry, each entrant represents and warrants that (a) his/her Entry is his/her original creation; (b) has not been copied or derived in whole or in part from any other work; (c); (d) his/her Entry does not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity right, or other personal, proprietary or intellectual property right of any person or entity; (e) his/her Entry is not defamatory, libellous, obscene, or otherwise illegal; (f) his/her Entry is the sole and exclusive property of the entrant; and (g) he/she has complete, worldwide distribution rights for his/her Entry. If an Entrant appears in his/her Entry, such Entrant consents, by virtue of submitting his/her Entry to the Competition, to Amazon’s use of the Entrant’s name, likeness, photograph or image, including, without limitation, a recording or parts thereof, whether in writing, audio, and/or video, for any purpose, in any media, without compensation or additional consideration to Entrant. Failure to obtain or provide such consent will disqualify the Entry. Amazon may at any time during the Competition request proof of such consent and disqualify any Entry for which such consent cannot be provided. Amazon may disqualify any Entrant whose Entry Amazon determines, in its sole discretion, at any time not to comply with any requirement described in these Terms and Conditions or the foregoing representations and warranties. 

Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amazon, Hotels.com, any entity involved in any aspect of the Competition (including funding, judging or administration), advertising agencies, contractors, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advisors, and advertising/promotion agencies (collectively, the “Released Parties”), for any action or claim brought by a person whose consent Entrant did not obtain. Content of Entries, along with the Entrant’s name may be posted on any Web site owned and/or operated by Amazon or any of its affiliates (“Amazon Site”), Amazon’s pages on social media web sites, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and any other Web site or other online point of presence on any platform, through which any products or services available on or through the Amazon Site are described, syndicated, offered, merchandised or advertised, in Amazon’s sole discretion. Amazon’s decision to post or an Entry or any portion of an Entry on any Amazon Site does not mean that the selected Entry has been selected as one of the winning Entries. 

Entrants agree to take any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits and other documents) reasonably requested by Amazon to effect, perfect, or confirm Amazon’s ownership or license in the Entry Materials and any associated proprietary rights.

Taxes: Winners may be required to pay tax on the value of the prize and winners are solely responsible for any such payment. Winners acknowledge and agree that Amazon accepts no responsibility for any taxes that may be due in respect of winner’s personal tax position as a result of the prize.

Privacy Notice: All information submitted in connection with this Competition will be treated in accordance with these terms and conditions and Amazon’s Privacy Notice.

Waiver of Liability: Neither Amazon, Hotels.com nor the Prize Fulfilment Agency will be responsible or liable for: (i) any failure to receive an Entry due to transmission failures or other conditions beyond their reasonable control; (ii) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or Entry; (iii) any disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond their reasonable control; or (iv) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Competition.

General Release: By entering the Competition you release Amazon, Hotels.com, relevant third parties, and each of their respective affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agencies, from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Competition (including any Entry Materials) or with the acceptance, possession, or use of any Prize, except as prohibited by law.

Amendment: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amazon reserves the right to change these rules or cancel the Competition at any time, in its sole discretion.
