Monaco Hotels

The compact city-state of Monaco is synonymous with glamour and extravagance. Glistening skyscrapers sit side-by-side with palatial Belle Epoque hotels, while the rich and famous flock to see and be seen in its iconic hotels, casinos, restaurants and nightclubs. Situated on a gorgeous stretch of the French Riviera, Monaco is a delight during the summer months, when its blissful beaches are at their liveliest, and the azure-blue sea is at its most inviting. But you'll find a wealth of things to keep you occupied at any time of year – from beautifully-preserved palaces and world-class museums to an exciting and eclectic dining scene.

Things to see

The legendary Casino Monte Carlo is perhaps the world's most famous den of indulgence. Hollywood movie stars, billionaires and royalty have graced its gilded hallways and ballrooms throughout its illustrious history. You can follow in their footsteps without paying a fortune for the privilege, though you'll need to adhere to a strict dress code. The Oceanographic Museum is another must-see attraction. Founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I, it houses a huge collection of marine world curiosities, as well as an awe-inspiring aquarium containing sharks, sea turtles, moray eels and a giant guitarfish. Before your visit, check out what's on at the Grimaldi Forum. This state-of-the-art seafront cultural and congress centre plays host to a diverse programme of world-class ballet, opera and theatre performances. The Jardin Exotique is one of the finest gardens in Monaco. Home to thousands of rare plants, including the world's largest cactus collection, it also offers spectacular views of the prinicipality.
