Absolutely NOT
The hotel's online reviews were grossly misleading. Upon our late-night arrival, skepticism was warranted, but we proceeded to inspect the room after obtaining the key. While the room seemed clean, its outdated condition and moisture accumulation around the front door were evident. Given our fatigue and the unavailability of other hotels, we chose to stay. Regrettably, the next morning revealed a disturbing cockroach infestation, with the insects crawling on us and the walls. We managed to capture a few specimens and presented them to the front desk, only to find the manager absent. Following an hour-long wait, a 50% refund was offered, but it was never processed. Subsequent attempts to contact the manager regarding my refund were unsuccessful, as he was unavailable and claimed a lack of documentation regarding my stay.

A few corrections to be made for safety
Room was inviting except when we got to sink and bathroom-2 Kleenexes in box and 1/4 roll toilet paper with another 1/4 sitting on back of toilet. Toilet tank top was broken on the corner where flush handle was and sharp-could be an accident waiting to happen. Shower walls were cracked and filled in with putty and there was not one grab bar to hang onto, shower curtain had mold on bottom of it. Two of the wash clothes had stains on them and should have been tossed, Other than that it worked for one night

Dead bug knocked me into another room
I found a dead bug under the mattress in my original room, but I was able to get a different room instead. Both rooms were dirty in the corners, but not bad enough to leave. It was okay for just a spot to sleep as a single man driving through.

A Surprising Treasure in the Heartland
Our second stay over the years. Avery very nice 2+ property! To me, a treasure in the state of Illinois. Quiet and clean with above average amenities. Room 103 is an accessible room on a quiet corner of the property. Large bathroom with sink area separate from bath. Bed was very comfortable, towels plush and room quiet on the outskirts of Vandalia. Breakfast offered both hot and cold items an many items offered. Check-in was quick, reception was warm and very professional.

We stayed in the king suite and it was perfect for our needs with 2 larger dogs that dont like to be cramped in a small hotel room. It helped with their anxiety from the cross country trip. The bed was comfortable. Its not the most prestine or up to date, but for the price and amount of space we got, we have no complaints.
