Really lovely hotel in perfect location. Outstanding friendly staff. Very clean. Lots of charm. The only thing to know is that the basic room is pretty tiny. No coffee/tea maker, no luggage rack. Still loved our stay.

Incredible ambience and service, unbeatable price
This is a hidden gem in the DC area and my favorite place to stay. Quiet, elegant, beautiful boutique hotel at its best! The price would lead you to believe otherwise. I love to hang out in the lobby or courtyard and the staff could NOT be more helpful. Really. They couldn't. The Mt. Vernon metro is a few blocks away with a direct line to the Mall for museums or anywhere else. Safe neighborhood but not remote. I felt comfortable walking alone anywhere, anytime.

I had a fantastic stay at the Morrison Clark Historic Inn and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the heart of Washington, D.C. The rate I secured through Hotels.com was excellent, especially considering the quality of the hotel and its prime location. It’s within walking distance of City Center, Gallery Place, and the Convention Center, making it super convenient for exploring downtown DC. There are some great restaurants nearby, including RPM Italian where I grabbed a quick express lunch, and Farmers and Distillers, which had a fantastic brunch buffet. The hotel’s decor was charming, blending historic character with modern comfort, and it was very well maintained throughout my stay. The staff really made a difference—they were friendly, attentive, and accommodating, ensuring that every part of my stay was seamless. The thoughtful touches stood out as well—hot apple cider and coffee in the lobby created a welcoming atmosphere, while the room had everything I needed. The shower was excellent, the blackout curtains ensured a great night's sleep, and the high-speed internet was perfect for catching up on work. The fitness center was an added bonus, too. I also appreciated the complimentary spring water and chocolates—such a nice, old-fashioned touch that’s hard to find these days. Another plus was the 12 p.m. check-out time, which was such a relief compared to the early check-out times at many other hotels. It made my departure so much more relaxed.

Where the hell is my room!
Great hotel, but I was room 230. When I checked in the guy told me to go up the stairs and it’s by the elevator. I then walked around for 10 minutes through a maze with no signs telling me where room numbers where. I had to get in an elevator, go up to 2R which was like 5 feet. Go through the elevator and then enter a new maze. Go through a door to go outside and then find my room. All I’m saying is get some signs

Historic charm meets tasteful traditional rooms
Wow!! We’ve stayed in a number of hotels over the years in DC. The Morrison Clark exceeded all expectations. Beautiful historic property that tastefully incorporates 4 buildings. From the greeting from the doorman to the lovely library, we loved everything about our stay. Room was well appointed and spacious for a city room. Lovely bathroom with rainfall shower and marble tiles and vanity with plenty of space. Rooms were serviced daily and complimentary water was provided each day which was greatly appreciated. Each morning coffee and tea in the bar area was also complimentary for guests. We loved the neighborhood and discovered a few new favorite gems. Outstanding stay!! Hope to stay here again next time we are in DC.
