Comfortable rooms. The bed was slightly uncomfortable but not awful. The staff was friendly and polite. The food in their dinner restaurant was very good. I had the goat pie and it was delicious. Breakfast was very good and the wait staff was super helpful. Would absolutely stay again.

Visiting Distilleries in Speyside.

We visited the Speyside and stayed 1 night in this hotel Very authentic place. I will recommend to stay in this hotel, It is located at the heart of the Speyside.
Roberto, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The world class whiskey bar (over 800 bottles) alone, hosted by a truly knowledgeable somm, made the stay memorable. Overwhelmed, slow dinner service and somewhat dated areas lost a star for us.

Great stay at tbe Craigellachie Hotel

Great trip with friends, very comfortable large room with huge ensuite. Excellent choice available for breakfast and adjoining Spey Inn bar offered afforable meals in tbe evening. Quaich Bar offers an impressive collection of whiskies but would be be better if they had a whisky menu to help you choose and also to give an indication of price.
William, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Nice little hotel in the middle of Speyside. Rooms are small but cute, housekeeping could pay a little more attention to dusting in not so obvious parts of the room. Restaurant Spey inn has a nice atmosphere, a bit pricy but very good food. Bar Quaiche is just outstanding with a wide selection of whiskey and staff is just phenomenal with recommendations and advice. We had 2 great evenings there with great whiskey in cosy atmosphere.

4/10 Fair

Luxury? Frosty welcome, portering our own bags up rain soaked stairs outside, generally tatty exterior and care worn inside. Room OK, bed good, bathroom could use work. No breakfast first morning, good offering the next day. There are better places to stay in Speyside (book well in advance). Very poor value at over $660 for two night stay with one breakfast! Owner and no manager were available on site to address concerns. Stay elsewhere!
Hilary, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Been at the venue before several times but only for food. Ribeye steak i had was nice but for £38 you would expect more than 1/2 a grilled tomato and 1/4 grilled shallot as trimmings. Breakfast nice with real fresh orange juice. Let down by the female server who spent most of the time on her phone and at times with her back to the guests bent over the counter typing on her phone, she was very polite though. i would think such a nice establishment would have a ban on servers using phones while on duty. Room nice and comfy as described. My partner really liked the whisky hand cream and wanted to buy a couple of bottles, as advertised in the rooms. Unfortunately they had none for sale, you would expect if its advertised for sale they would ensure have enough stock. Receptionist very friendly and helpful, first class service. Bar staff also very friendly.

8/10 Very good

This is our third stay, which is an indication of how much we enjoy staying at the Craigellachie Hotel. The staff are always fantastic and the hotel and it’s location are superb. The rooms are well laid out, nicely decorated and comfortable. The only slightly negative comments I would make are that the hall carpets outside of the bedrooms looked like they would have benefited from a hoover, however this is a minor gripe. I’ve also noticed that the sides to the bath/showers in all rooms are suffering from water damage to the wood panelling, as every room we have stayed in has had a leaky shower guard. Apart from these two minor issues, raised to benefit the staff more than anything, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!
Joseph, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Arriving here last Monday , the lady on reception was most professional and courteous , explaining where the breakfast would be , the whisky room , the restaurant etc .. my room was detailed as a single ( snug ? ) room and it was perfect for my needs as an overnight stop single traveller . The room was well appointed , the tv was a little off the mark being as nowadays most hotels of good calibre have wall mounted products rather than this little effort that was perched on a little table at the foot of the bed .. but that would be nitpicking .. and I understand after speaking with the nice lady on reception upon leaving that there is a big plan of progressive refurbishment underway so I’m sure in time , any little foibles will be addressed . The hotel is handy for Elgin , it’s on the whisky trail , it’s marketed as a historic whiskey hotel in its own right , it has a fantastic restaurant on site ( Copper Dog ) that I had an amazing meal at , so I will be back in a month or two with my wife to stay again and have a lovely meal .. Free car parking too !

4/10 Fair

We were very surprised that this hotel had such good ratings, however it seems most reviews are for the restaurant not the hotel itself. The hotel room was in a state of disrepair. There was extensive water damage in the bathroom and the room was not as pictured. We payed for a king but were placed into a double. The bathroom floor had pieces of toilet paper left from a previous guest and almost every surface was covered in dust/dirty along with various things splattered on the walls and floors. We had to clean our own room before using it. Upon bringing to the hotels attention, it was brushed off with staff stating even they expected higher quality when they started working there and were taken back by the room conditions. We were told due to the age of the building the hotel is trying to improve rooms but that its just an old hotel and that’s what we should expect. No compensation or anything done on the hotels end even though Expedia told me it was up to hotel if they wanted to make any adjustments to our bill which in turn ended up being a back and forth conversation before we gave up with the hotel. I would not recommend this place. The restaurant is the only good thing about this place.

Dyrt men hyggeligt hotel

Fint hotel, men relativt dyrt at bo der. Værelserne er store med fine badeværelser, men stedet virker lidt slidt. Spey Inn i underetagen var en hyggelig restaurant/pub, men maden i restauranten var ikke specielt fremragende.
