Rooms need work, everything else really nice
The hotel grounds are very beautiful, full of trails and a lovely pool and restaurant. The rooms were not good. The first room smelt like it had been flooded and the carpets had not been lifted, we requested a change of rooms. The second room was better, but very sparse. There was one chair and no side table, so the only place we could sit together was on the bed. It just felt very sterile. Also only one bed had a blanket and it was cold when we went. The restaurant was really good and the bar service was very good l.

Hotel room was beautiful with a great view. Shuttle was there in seconds of calling to get anywhere on property. A couple minute walk to restaurants off property. Beds were amazing quality. All requests were taken care of promptly. Very great experience. Breakfast buffet had a great selection

Beautiful hotel. Great room for a family of 4. The breakfast buffet very good with many options. Friendly staff. The property has Pizotes which are cute animal fun to watch. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Monteverde. Nice pool area but I only wished they had a Hot Tub.

Resort is very tired and has begun its descent into shabbiness. Our first room had a torn screen and a badly damaged carpet. They switched us to a smaller room of same type that at least had intact screen, but stained and pulled carpet. Gym was okay. No A/C. Loft of our room got very hot.

Run Down, Poorly Maintained
The check-in was more about policy and procedure versus friendly welcome. But more importantly , the room was in desperate need of renovation and repair. The carpet was dirty and shredded, the doors were lopsided, the fixtures were broken, the windows didn’t have screen over them to prevent bugs from coming in, which is a big deal because the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning. The property and rooms were in extremely poor condition and needs a complete renovation!

The good: -Large room -Large bathroom -Very clean -Refrigerator in room very useful -Ample parking in each building next to rooms, restaurants, etc. Needs improvement: -Poor sealing of doors and windows so noise from cars, other guests and the smell of gasoline from grass cutting filtered into the room -The bed made a creak as if it were going to break. Quite annoying to sleep on. -Poor quality TV -Quality and quantity of food vs price at Laggus restaurant was hard to justify. Overall, a lot of food in the country is expensive. -Slight sewer smell when flushing toilet. Possibly leaking through screw holes attaching toilet to the ground.

Nice, big , clean room. Shuttle service to and from reception area was very good and convenient as the walk would be stressful on knees , especially if you have knee issues. Entrance is convenient to get to from the main road (paved road) as opposed to other hotels in the area where road to the entrance from main road is not paved. Good nearby dining options.
